Tayla Williams is having a great game, I would definitely take her over MacDonald next year. She’s keeping Proud relatively quiet, great defensive vision.

Tayla Williams just casually picks up her 5th intercept and she’s been on court for less than 20 minutes!

I was hoping to maybe see Blackman today and get a sense for how she’s progressed but Wilson is just playing too good. Only way she gets on is if Wilson grows tired and needs a break.

            1/2 time: 23-23

            Fawns 5/6
            Housby 12/16

            Potgieter 18/20
            Dwan 4/6

Both teams struggling to find any rhythm at all. Just when it looks as if they may be beginning to click, another fumble or bad pass derails things. 35 turnovers so far already. Defenders on fire.

Swifts up 33-31 as we go into the power play in the 3rd Q. Turnover count: Tbirds 24, Swifts 21.

Swifts on a bit of a roll now. Up 38-33 and looking far more comfortable.

                  3/4 time: Swifts 41-33

                  Fawns 11/14
                  Housby 23/27

                  Potgieter 26/29
                  Dwan 6/9

Fawns nails a super shot, and suddenly it looks like the shackles have been broken. Swifts went on a 9-2 run to finish the quarter. Sarah Klau has been just outstanding against Lenize Potgieter.

Thunderbirds have got an incredible 22 gains so far, but sadly for them, they’ve only converted 10 of them into goals. That’s the Thunderbirds’ big problem. Swifts 46-36

Swifts up 51-40. As the game has gone on, the more comfortable they have looked, while Thunderbirds haven’t really been able to find any rhythm in attack all game.

                        Full time: Swifts 54-40

                        Housby 30/35 (86%)
                        Fawns 16/22 (73%)
                        Singleton 6/7 (86%)
                        TOTAL 52/64 (81%)

                        Potgieter 31/35 (89%)
                        Dwan 7/15 (47%)
                        Horjus 0/2 (0%)
                        TOTAL 38/52 (73%)

                        Super shots:
                        SWI 2/3
                        THU 2/9

                        Assists: Proud 27
                        Gains: Klau 9

                        POTM: Sarah Klau (Swifts)

Sarah Klau always looks like an excited little kid when she gets a Player of the Match award, as though she really didn’t expect to win it. It was well deserved. She was clearly the best player on court.

Turnover count ended up 33-24 against Thunderbirds, but importantly, in the second half it was 15-7. So, while Swifts were able to dig themselves out of the mess they were in in the first half, Thunderbirds couldn’t, and they just kept making errors all game.

Something has to give with the Tbirds …. so many gains, so many turnovers week after week.

9 rounds down now. In 8 of those, the Thunderbirds game has been the lowest-scoring game of the round. In the other (last week), it was the equal lowest-scoring game of the round!

Dawn is not the answer in goals. Her passes into potgieter are hesitant, i would’ve started Georgie in goals and McDonald in WA, hopefully maker ville is back for thr mid week game.
