Anyway, enjoyed seeing Ekenasio back, she was excellent last night, and a fantastic captain.
Mila RB, have NZ found their new WA, much prefer her there than C.
With Watson back (hopefully) at GK, Burger either GD/WD, I’m very excited about next year, and maybe even Con CupWeak Sunshine series creates hotspots in Silver Ferns

Based on these two games I feel Fitzpatrick will be the one missing out on World Cup in the D positions, with (failing injury or pregnancy) the selected players being –
Watson, Jury, Karaka, Temu, Burger and Heffernan. I don’t know if thats too many. It will be interesting to see how Temu matches up against the Australian attack circle, likewise Heffernan.
There’s definitely no place for Johnson who has been included the last two competitions as replacement for injury.I think Temu has a bit more work to do. Karaka to me will lock in the GD spot. Watson/Jury for GK, Karaka/Burger for GD, with Burger out to WD if need.
Farcical Silver Ferns v Jamaica series could have far-reaching implications

Silver Ferns turn turmoil into triumph
Silver Ferns-Jamaica fiasco a horrible look for international netball
Netball star’s child travelled without passport to get mum into Silver Ferns series
My only comments :) – it shows how slow the systems are when an emergency passport application is going to take a month
– I wonder how many of those 28 Jamaican visas were actually used in the end.Still trying to work out exactly what’s going on. Uganda only had 9 players last night, yet apparently that was okay. But NNZ was desperate to get 10 Jamaicans for this series.
NNZ wanted 10 to qualify the game as complying to the international rankings. Maybe Uganda didn’t care.
I read that for an international ranking (points) game there has to be 10 players named so maybe last nights game wasn’t for ranking points? – though I can’t imagine why they would spend the money to travel if it was just for some friendlies.
I believe it was the USA where the visa issue was for the Jamaicans, and they wouldn’t issue for them to transfer through the states to make it here (which could possibly have been avoided if they had applied for them further in advance?)
(and personally I think a baby travelling between NZ/Aus at 6 weeks old shouldn’t need a passport and should be able to travel under their mothers passport)
Maryann, if that was the case, it would be England that doesn’t care.
With Jamaica losing to NZ, England would surely be wanting to get three rankings wins here as that would help get them up to 3rd on the rankings.
