Simmons is the weak link for Fever.

        1/2 time: Vixens 28-21

Great team effort from Vixens here, taking command of that quarter 12-7. Samason with 16 goals, her combination with Barkmeyer is working a treat and they’re being backed up all the way down court. And only 5 turnovers to Fever’s 10.

          3/4 time: Vixens 38-31

That 3rd Q was 10-10. Vixens still with a very handy 7 goal lead. Can Fever peg it back in the last 10 minutes?

The Moloney & Watson combo has been terrific for Vixens.

Have been impressed with Cransberg for Fever in what I’ve seen.

Who is the male commentator? He has been dreadful! Mixes up players constantly. Has no idea about netball. Why can’t we have two expert netball commentators for the final?

                  Full time: Vixens 45-43

                  Samason 25/28 (89%) 5/9 (56%)
                  Barkmeyer 10/10 (100%) 0/1 (0%)

                  Fowler 30/31 (97%)
                  Glasgow 2/2 (100%) 4/4 (100%)
                  Teague-Neeld 1/2 (50%) 1/1 (100%)

What a great game. And to think it’s only pre-season. If that’s any guide, we’re in for a ripper in 2022.

                    Vixens :yahoo:

I know it’s pre-season but for Vixens this means a lot. They needed wins this weekend to erase the demons of 2021 and for their young players to learn how to win at this level. To take some confidence into the season.

I love that McKinnis changed her lineup so much today and showed off her flexibility. I love Moloney at WD so want to see more of that midcourt but Eddy’s first half in WD was the best she has played since the 2020 grand final so will be the starting WD.

I said after Traralgon Vixens should move on from Barkmeyer. I was very very wrong. Wowee, what a game and against Diamonds defenders. For her development it’s a shame she won’t be in the 10 each week but she will no doubt get chances throughout the year.

                    Rahni :rose:

MJ and Austin will have to work hard for their bibs.

GA remains a problem for Fever.
Glasgow has been good this weekend but was found wanting against a tagging GD in Weston. I wonder why they don’t try Cosh there? Now how will Dan find a way to put Pitman in the 10?

                        Wow…that was great.

                        Moloney MVP.

                        Agree about Barkmeyer and Eddy.

and Rahni…..she is so amazing to watch.

Cosh played in GA the other day, and in her short stint, played really well. I would rather see her given more court time there than ATN.

Fever need Pitman in the ten. I would have her in my starting 7, hands down their best WA option.

They lose so much drive, when Anstiss is playing C. Her strongest position is WD, and she should stay there. Cransberg ran the C very well, I thought her and Pitman have combined well.

Vixens are so exciting to watch. Watson is by far the countries best WA (by a long margin). I would have liked to have seen her at C with Mundy at WA.

Samason is a super star! Definitely a future Diamond, if she keeps up this form.

                                Wow what a great weekend!

I think the fox coverage is better than nine but please for the love of god can that male commentator go! We saw so many great experts in commentary this weekend can we just stick with them.

Was really impressed with some of the young/inexperienced ones this weekend, in particular Samason, Bacheldor and Wallam.
Team wise the vixens and thunderbirds were the standouts and how good would it be if the thunderbirds actually make top 4 after a few rough years.

I know a lot of people were questioning the need for Wilson last year, saying that the Thunderbirds would be better off making Blackman a full time player, and that she was only kept around for Sterling but I am so glad Thunderbirds persisted with her. With some time, her and Sterling could be a real force.
