A number of the Firebirds have had Covid recently. For any teams those players who thought they were fully recovered may have found the weekend taxing.
Definitely agree – would have been a big weekend for some of the players who have had Covid recently. There’s also some good evidence coming out that returning to vigorous exercise too early afterwards can increase your risk of long Covid so that’s a worry too.
Squads of 12 are logical but will probably come down to finances.
I’d like to know what the SSN’s plans are when / if teams have to forfeit. They didn’t manage that well last season.
Some teams are at risk of losing multiple players in one go where they have players who live together such as Klau, Turner, Smith at Swifts or Jenner and Dunkley or Dehaney, Miller & Batcheldor.
From Erin Delahunty…
a fifth thing we learned from the Team Girls Cup …
that high camera angle – great assessment tool for coaches and players after the game…and commentators after to analyse player movement during breaks/after the game (like is done watching the games from England).
But for watching the game live – I found it hard to know who had the ball watching footage from that angle – OK to a degree if I knew the players – but otherwise – a blur.
