@D-fencr – it was rather like that in the NZ-Aus series too. Held for an age or a very quick 3 secs. Some umpires are very reactive to the crowd but it never ceases to amaze me that people yell ‘held’ when its their team in possession!

Diamonds being more heavily penalised in this Q and committing more turnovers. It’s showing up on the scoreboard as the Roses fight back. Aus 41-37

Australia look a bit tired and to be honest I don’t blame them. Would like to see Klau on.

              3/4 time: Aus 43-38

              Garbin 6/8 (75%)
              Dwyer 3/3 (100%)

              Cardwell 25/27 (93%)
              Drakeford-Lewis 10/11 (91%)

Wow, that was frantic. The Roses won that Q 14-11. They threatened to do even better than that but threw away a few balls unnecessarily. Anyone’s game still.

Fadoju with her 8th gain and her 15th deflection. The Aussie feeders must be spooked by now. But the Diamonds still lead by 5 with 3 1/2 minutes left.

Full time: Australia has it 57-53, but only after a big fight from the Roses. I know she was on the losing side, but Funmi Fadoju a bit stiff not to be POTM.

Geez, apart from that first quarter it wasn’t the most pleasant game to watch. Balls going everywhere!

I was pleased with Austin though, they looked much better with her on the court. Also impressed with Price – I’m not her biggest fan usually but she’s a solid option and very steady on the feed. For WC I would pick Price, Watson, Hadley and line ball call between Parmenter or Brazill for midcourt.

Also, how good is Fadoju!? I can imagine she will be getting a few calls from some SSN clubs next year…

She should have got calls from SSN clubs THIS year! They clearly don’t watch the NSL.

Absolutely she should have. Firebirds could have used a defender.

Austin still needs time but she has potential talent. Consistency is something she needs to work on but the skill is there. Garbin was average. Wallam was found out . Dwyer was good, potential there. Turner I liked. Paige good.

Agree with all that Muffie. Garbin’s strength is her vertical leap and she can’t exploit that as easily again started someone with the same/better vertical leap. I really like Dwyer, it’s easy to forget how young she is but I think she’s going to be a star in the long run.

Will there be a northern quad series in the new year?

Fadoju an absolute star! I was also quite impressed with SDL, much better impact than her last few appearances.
Parmy and Turner were both good IMO and loved what Dwyer put out there too.
