It will be interesting to see what this goal circle looks like next year, especially with Bueta out and a few shooters not being at their best in recent times. They’re all playing for those bibs this series.
1/4 time: 14-14
Garbin 11/12 (92%)
Austin 3/4 (75%)Cardwell 10/13 (77%)
Housby 4/5 (80%)Turnovers: ENG 5-4
Penalties: AUS 25-15Tight battle out there. Lots of whistle. 40 penalties already, most against Australia. See how that plays out now that we change ends.
Its a smash fest but def not surprised, yes a lot of whistle but then it needs to be called, still A LOT being missed. A lot of ‘hollywood’ too. Both teams need to stong hanging on the body.
Only plus for me atm is Fran Williams play, liking her space marking and off the body defence.
1/2 time: Eng 27-26
Garbin 19/21 (90%)
Austin 7/9 (78%)Cardwell 22/26 (85%)
Housby 5/6 (83%)Turnovers: 12-12
Penalties: AUS 40-24England threatened to blow the game wide open, but the Diamonds scored 5 of the last 6 goals to close the gap. Williams has 5 gains!
Bruce and Price…..blerch….seriously, they make Bruce the VC.
Fadoju is great to watch.
Not the prettiest game to watch, ball flying all over the place.
Hadley at C has opened things up.
Not sure why Austin was taken off, maybe she was getting a bit tired. Koenen and Garbin isn’t great viewing though.
I hope we see Wallam.
3/4 time: Aus 42-39
Garbin 34/40 (85%)
Koenen 0/0 (0%)Cardwell 31/35 (89%)
Drakeford-Lewis 3/3 (100%)Just too many errors in that Q for Eng, giving Aus the opportunity to take the lead. Drakeford-Lewis with 6 turnovers in just 15 minutes. Roses far from out of it.
Looks like Wallam is coming on!
Loving watching Garbin at GS…..
Loving watching Diamonds without Bruce and Price on the court. …. Go play rugby …
Excited to watch Fadoju.
Donnell
You could not have scripted that finish any better if you tried. Donnell Wallam with a layup to win the game in the dying seconds!!!
What a game! Australia wins 55-54
Media gonna be sickening tomorrow i bet
Wow, that was a perfect ending – I’m tearing up a little bit. What character and strength by Donnell. Amazing.
That finish from Wallam (and amazing timing from Moloney – who I love in WD much more) should be what makes the headlines tomorrow as a response to the controversy of the last few days. Despite personal opinions, her confidence today in spite of how difficult the last week must have been for her, is amazing.
