Thought SDL did some nice things when on court. Found Cardwell well and opened up space.
Metcalf struggled for me. I would’ve played Parmy on her but as she wasn’t picked the other two also did a great job shutting her down. Seems Housby has more of an impact playing for Swifts than she does England. Similarly to Harten.
Liked Williams game but also would’ve liked to seen Layla Guscoth on court.

We need to find that second GA option after Wood. Austin struggled a little bit.
Proud/Hadley combo works better with Hadley in C for my liking.

With Fadoju having a great impact, we could be seeing the last of Geva in a Roses dress!

I think Geva will get picked for the World’s as her last hoorah.

Grumpy Ebglish GS from CWG was Cardwell.

Housby has been underwhelming internationally for a couple of seasons imo.

It definitely shows how behind Australia is with Indigenous netballers. Just the 3rd one whereas you look at NZ they’ve got more than that number in the team atm and England have peoples of differing backgrounds (sorry wasn’t worded that well but not sure how to say it).
I was involved in the NSW Koori Netball tournament for many years and they definitely have the talent there just not the furthering to next levels, it is disappointing.

Fadoju isn’t going to be Geva’s replacement because she’s not really a GK. Her forte is GD or WD. I want to see Joseph more at WA as Metcalf is too easily shut down, and Housby had been off the boil for quite some time. Also need to see Tchine on court, especially after the Fisher fiasco. Harvey also needs quality court time. Get the young ones on, even if it means losing the Test Series. Roses need a WC team of young talent, not the samd old faces

On ABC RN’s sports segment just now, Warrick said it was Bruce who got that intercept at the end …I thought it was Moloney. Can someone clarify.

Definitely Moloney (potentially with a hand in from Hadley). It was in the midcourt and Bruce was back in GK.

                      Thanks for clarifying D-fencr.

It was definitely Moloney. Bruce was in GK- if she got the deflection she would have been massively offside

Bruce did get a great intercept with about 3-4 mins to go?

But yes the saviour was Moloney. :good:

Havent watched the game yet, but am I the only one surprised that it wasn’t a comfortable win to England when you look at their starting line up vs Aussie for experience and connections?

Pretty sure Warrick was talking about the intercept at the end, not the one with 3-4 minutes to go.

I actually thought it should have been a much easier win to Australia. England chopped and changed their lineup a bit more to bring on their young players (and it’s not like their older comm games lineup did the job there either). Australia didn’t capitalise on England’s general play mistakes enough.

I thought it would be close. But you’re right. There’s quite a big difference in experience. England looked right on top for periods in the 2nd Q, but didn’t go on with it.
