I was genuinely emotional watching Wallam take the court, and then definitely shed a tear at the end for that finish. What an incredible moment of strength and composure for her.
I’d be quite happy to never hear that male commentator again, what a way to ruin the moment. This fiasco was a NA issue and the players presented a united front and for both commentators to continue to put it on Wallams shoulders just plays in to what has been disgusting media coverage. Appalled.
I think we’ve found our new Cox/Basset GS change. Start Garbin and let her work in to the game and bring Wallam on for impact when you need to score quickly, we’ve been calling for it for a while now and it was good to see it pay off tonight.
The England GK was phenomenal and Fran Williams really read the game well. I know they mentioned playing possession netball but I thought the England attack really missed Cardwell opening up on the third second quite a few times.
Odd game though that really lacked intensity at times.
RELIVE THAT LAST 30 SECONDS RIGHT HERE BECAUSE WE CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE WHAT WE JUST SAW.

Donnell Wallam hopes to inspire Indigenous youngsters after stunning Australian Diamonds debut
It’s so funny how that game was pretty average netball but also an iconic match?
Donnell Wallam with Liz Watson will be the key to Australia winning World Cup (as a kiwi supporter, that combo scares me). Monumental for Wallam and felt like a Disney moment.
Fadoju on the other hand was a star! I don’t follow VNSL but I was so impressed with her. She’s shorter than your average GK but really makes up for it with her limbs and elevation. England have finally found their replacement for Geva. Also, would have loved to see the long limbs of Guscoth infront of her. Attacking end for and mid court for England has work to do. Expect Thrilby to trial some combinations.

I have watched the Wallam moment a hundred times already!
Proud needs a shout out for this moment too. I don’t know if it was instinctive and she knew a layup was going to happen. But I feel any other middie would have tried to direct Wallam to cut back to the post, before letting the ball go. She gave her a ball where Wallam literally took it right at the ark of the circle.
As a Ferns supporter, I find this Diamonds team exciting to watch!
Donnell’s dream moment; Roses’ rising star ‘makes herself known’: Talking Points
I would have expected Australia to win game one by a much bigger margin. Remember England didn’t even medal at Comm Games.
Kiera Austin looking limpy with ice strapped to knee post captain’s run today. Not a great sign with limited GAs…
Austin is there, but no Garbin. Dwyer comes in and Parmenter is back.
