Thank so much Ian!
Excited to see what Cardwell can do at the Thunderbirds this year.
Think this was a great performance by a young and relatively inexperienced England team – so refreshing to actually see some young legs on court. Agree Pitman was good but to be brutally honest, she’s not the future, and we need to have a succession plan so we don’t depend on Nat Metcalfe for everything. Didn’t think Joseph was too bad and it was good to see Rattu get a run – they will both improve with more exposure.
Agree with @Ian that the revelation was Fudoju, as those who’ve seen her knew would be the case. Why she wasn’t at CWG is beyond me – she’s going to be an international star!
Uganda ran hard and I think just ran out of experience – they will get better. Agree it was odd to see Peace at GK, but when you have Cholhok as well, I guess it’s a way of getting your best players out on court – a total waste, though!
Is there any way to watch the replay in Australia without needing a VPN?
Agree that Pitman is not the future. But she is definitely the NOW! I’m thinking she’s being run in this series to see what she has to offer. With WC next year, it would be weighing up experience vs youth.
They definitely need a genuine backup for Nat Metcalfe. And the role should not just to be a backup, but to be a threat to her position. Every starting 7 player should know there’s somebody right on their heals to take that position.Pretty sure you need a VPN to watch in Australia.
Totally agree TB on the need to have a genuine backup, but I’m just not convinced Pitman is it – she has a habit of running backwards into the pockets come what may, which becomes very static. Would be good to see Panagarry, Rattu and maybe even Scholes because they all offer something very different – as well as Joseph, who has never really been given a sustained go. Good to have the options, I guess.
Another build day complete ☑️
Hope you’re all ready to take the roof off at the @CopperBoxArena this weekend! We genuinely can’t wait to see you all ??????????? #ENGvUGA @EnglandNetball pic.twitter.com/SRAFdUmUsf
