We are disappointed to confirm that our @NetballSL game against @LboroLightning that was scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed. This is due to a number of illnesses & injuries to our squad.
We will announce details of the rearranged fixture shortly.https://t.co/6VRnMkmmz4 pic.twitter.com/92DjDe5Kcd

Lightning:
GS Cholhok
GA Clark
WA Joseph
C Panagarry
WD Cobden
GD Williams
GK HarveyPulse:
GS Tchine
GA McDonald
WA Honey
C Rattu
WD Everitt
GD Odeogberin
GK Fadoju1/4 time: Lightning 14-11
A bit scrappy which is understandable for round 1. Pulse started well, but Lightning have clicked into gear and the formidable presence of Cholhok under the post is proving tough to stop. At the other end, some of Pulse’s connections not quite there.
1/2 time: Lightning 31-21
The scary thing is that Lightning are certainly not at their best, but they’re still doing more than enough to be in control now, winning that Q by 17-10. Pulse being far too hesitant and really lacking in confidence in the attack end.
Is Funmi Fadoju a bit wasted at GK? She is doing as best as she can against Cholhok, but if she was out at GD or WD, she’d be able to win more ball.
3/4 time: Lightning 46-35
Better performance from Pulse in the 3rd Q, only losing it by 1. Some encouraging signs there, but Lightning still well in control.
Full time: Lightning 61-50
A good win for Lightning, getting their title defence underway. They rested some key players in the 2nd half and only won it by 1. Pulse was undone by a poor 2nd Q, but there were some good signs as the game went on.
POTM: Beth Cobden
Game 2:
Bath:
GS Borger
GA Drakeford-Lewis
WA R. Shaw
C J. Shaw
WD Allison
GD Guscoth
GK PavelinSirens:
GS Goodwin
GA McCall
WA Dix
C Abernethy
WD McKevitt
GD Nicholl
GK VinkhumboNo Emma Barrie to start the season for Sirens. She’s a big loss. Bath also without a couple of big names today in Guthrie and Maweni.
1/4 time: Bath 11-9
I figure we’ll be saying this about most teams but that was a rather scrappy underwhelming start. Unfortunately for Bethan Goodwin, she missed some close range goals and that put Sirens on the back foot.
