Sunday:
Stars v Pulse
Magic v MysticsMonday:
Steel v TactixJust saw on Instagram that Rore will be sickness cover for Temu in tomorrows stars match
Match of the round: Stars vs Pulse. I have the two teams middle of the pack vying for third place.
Based on last week the other two games should be walkovers. I hope they aren’t.
Pulse mid courts feeding to Walmsley not so great today.
Stars:
GS Maia Wilson
GA Jamie Hume
WA Gina Crampton
C Mila Reuelu-Buchanan
WD Samon Nathan
GD Holly Fowler
GK Kelera Nawai-CaucauPulse:
GS Amelia Walmsley
GA Tiana Metuarau
WA Whitney Souness
C Madeline Gordon
WD Fa’amu Ioane
GD Kristiana Manu’a
GK Kelly JuryStars up 17-12 at 1/4 time.
Interesting comment about Walmsley being against a physical GK this week. They’ve played Magic then Steel so that’s Mikare (with Tong out front) then THSR (with Burley out front).
If you just focus on the goal circle you can see some pretty blatant body hits/arm wrapping around the body.
1/2 time: Stars 30-26
In saying that, Walmsley is trying to run away/reposition rather than take the hits – which means she’s not clearly showing where her space is, and she’s also pulling off the hold too soon.
This game reinforces why Gordon is a fringe Fern. She looks explosive and exciting, but she’s the first one to give up on feeding Walmsley.
Gordon’s performance in the constellation cup was similar to today too
Pulse got within 2 but then Stars got 2 quick goals just before half time.
GPTs for the Pulse feeders – Metuarau 4, Gordon 2, Souness 2. And only 2/3rd success on their centre passes, the Stars are near 80% on that stat.
I’d put Mvula on.
What does Mvula have to do to get on court? It’s definitely not all Walmsley’s doing this game, but the aversion to playing Mvula is strange.
