Jury saying the same thing about their goalers playing it around too much moooz.
Don’t know the stats properly, but I’m sure in the first half Bailey Mes had 20 goals. In the 2nd half 10.
I think pulling Kersten out of C played a part, as they were struggling to get good feeds into the circle.I don’t understand Mary-Jane’s persistence on keeping Edgecombe in an attacking role? Surely a direct swap into WD with Elley would be much more suitable?
Mes was 8, 12, 7 and 3. She was GA in the last quarter.
Ekenasio was 3, 2, 5 and 8. Being GS in the last quarter.
Okay, I can understand playing the ball around, but if you’re going to do that, you have to make sure your final shot is a sure thing. Pulse played the ball around for so long and yet still left themselves with Metuarau taking a mid-range shot instead of Walmsley taking a shot right under the post. It was just asking for trouble.

Also agree with the Edgecombe experiment at WA – it doesn’t work. I would love to see her at WD and putting hands over pressure on the feed to give Takarangi and Mikaere a go at more fliers.
Mes was great but I reckon Mikaere deserved the honours today. She played the best I’ve ever seen her play and was a nuisance to the Pulse attack.
So annoying to see the pulse play the ball around to run down the clock then miss the actual goal shot which have made them even instead if losing.may have gone into extra time which would have been fun….
@Maryann I agree!
Mes was great, but went a little bit quiet in the 2nd half (like I said in previous post – due to the midcourt changes). Mikaere played some of best netball today.
I do think she matches up better against taller shooters, Walmsley and Nweke. But struggles against a Wilson or Dunn.Stars well on top at 1/2 time 32-23
So, a comfortable win for Stars. 57-48!
