I honestly think that is why her and winders are on the outside of the SF at the moment

a game of two halves – Stars comprehensively beaten in the first half and then were pretty much equal in the second.
JURY – MVP by a mile.
Full time: Pulse 58-44
Well, this was a surprise. Not sure exactly what happened. There are some strange results in this comp. But I guess that keeps the interest up!
Not a good performance from anyone from the Stars, Maia Wilson totally outplayed by Jury. To much movement to slow.
Not good for her WC chances IMOWilson – too much movement, too predictable for Jury.
Crampton – couldn’t get free enough from Ioane.Just like Nweke last weekend in the first half against Pulse – too much movement, feeders not able to get a feed in. If a holding shooter can also provide movement in the circle they should know when is the time to use it.
Crampton in particular concerns me, she really hasn’t been in consistent top form for a long time now and if she is the ‘stability and experience’ that the Ferns need in WA, yet is showing she can’t break clear of dogged defence then is she really a World Cup Squad contender? She should have the ability to think on the fly but last evening this wasn’t showing.
Anyway Stars clearly outplayed by the Pulse, who came out willing to run themselves in to the ground and scrap to the end. Not the prettiest game but hey the umpires didn’t reign it in at the beginning and were left scrambling by the half time break.

Wow what a hiding the Pulse gave to the Stars. Funny to hear Harrison say the Stars got caught up in physicality of the Pulse play. Hardly! The Stars showed a lack of skill taking out airborne players etc. Inept display of umpiring too. Dishing out warnings here there and everywhere, not playing advantage etc.
Not a good advertisement for clean, fast running netball. So much whistle. Didn’t see Metuarau fade either in the last quarter as some on here have been saying.
Be interesting to see if Pulse or Staes can start to play consistently and string together a series of wins.
Yes Maryann, Ioane played a blinder against Crampton. Uncharacteristic mistakes from Wilson but high shooting stats.
I’m kinda liking these unpredictable, scrappy games where players are being tested under pressure.
She’ll get in McLeod
Good article on Bailey today@Minkie – Yes very good article. Very honest and raw about bullying through social media and the impact on players, family (like yourself) and friends, her injuries and how they combine to mess with the ability of players to perform. A lot of it by people who don’t follow closely and have no idea from week to week, but no matter who makes the comments it is not on.
Thanks Maryann, yes very raw and honest. I got off lightly living in Aus but my family back in NZ got it rough.
Ironically the reporter who wrote this article must have a short memory as for years he was Bayes harshest critics.
Anyways there is life during and after netball, as long as all players have a good balance.
As for the SF, we’ll see. In a way I hope not, as know the SF will have it tough against the International teams now and the critics will ramp it up, regardless of other players playing (Hubby reckons the All Blacks won’t make there World Cup, shock horror). But of course part of me would be tickled pink and this might be her last season, who knows. Thanks for the tip about the article about Mes on Stuff.
Can’t link but found it easily on google using ‘article about bailey mes 2023’.
It’s called ‘Bailey Mes excelling again on the netball court after challenging times’ and it’s written by Brendon Egon.

I think Mystics are really going to come out firing for todays game, as they have a point to prove.
Im hoping for Magic to stay consistent, and take the win!No Fitzpatrick. If the Magic attack can fire, game on.
Enjoyed reading Mes’s article.
Really don’t see why Mystics are starting with Stythe GD and Karaka GK- surely Karaka would be able to better handle Eke after all the time they’ve spent together in Ferns? And we all saw how much better Stythe was in GK last time. Oh well, looking forward to watching this game!
