What a highly entertaining match. Truly could have gone either way. Excellent shooting stats from the Stars. The Pulse have grown from those tight loses earlier in the season.
I thought the umpiring was excellent from our WC umpires.Malesala – 20 goals – great to see a GA shoot such high numbers, and many shots were from mid or long range.
Shame that the coaches don’t coach away that short(ish) pass that a couple of players love to do.
Not sure why Temu was brought back on. Stars defence was working the 2nd and 3rd quarter fine.
Was a surprisingly clean game too.
Prob best game of the season for Crampton and Wilson.
What a game! The game the final last year deserved to be
Wow exciting game. Well done to Pulse. A couple of umpire calls swung the game I thought….
Wilson outplayed Jury most of the game. Hope Gordon’s ok. I didn’t think she’d go back on.Looks like not much interest in this first game of the day between Tactix and Steel!
Result was 50-31 to the Tactix. I must admit I didn’t watch most of this game… Haha
Sorry, I was having a nap!!! :bye:
Steel (apparently) started quite well in what was a scrappy first Q, but Tactix gradually got on top and had a good win.
I watched the whole game 🙂 But I was busy in the breaks. Tactix started to come back into the match when Poi, who started at C, moved into WA and Malcolm came on. Interesting comment made was that Dunn looked way too casual in the first half.
Mystics – Stars game. Mystics lead by 2 at the half time break.
3/4 time Mystics 46 – Magic 37
Real defensive game. The shooters struggled to maintain their composure at times.
Nweke was agitated throughout. Mikaere always matches up well against her but I think a lot of the angst was directed toward her feeders.
Mes didn’t like the close attention of Stythe on the shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets picked as the fifth/back-up defender for NWC.
MSB is certainly back at her best.
Mystics 60 – Magic 49
A bit flattering to Mystics as Magic pulled them back to within 5 but Mystics D really stepped up the last few minutes. Nweke had an off game, a lot of misses. I do think she lets Mikaere get in her head, yet its the physical side of Mikaere more than athleticism. Mystics have done well, faced more issues than have been made public during this week.Congratulations to Ameliaranne Ekenasio on bringing up her 100th national league game today.
She started her national league career at the Firebirds in 2011 in the ANZ Championship and has since played for the Pulse and Magic since moving to Aotearoa 🇳🇿

MSB on the bench tonight as per the mystics starting 7. Anyone know anything further re this?
I would imagine she’ll come into the defensive circle to spell Karaka and Stythe tonight. I think Earle will get some time at C, so maybe the midcourt will move around as well.
Added now I’ve looked – she wasn’t in the photo taken this morning so no idea but then again neither was Earle.
