1/2 time: AUS 31-23
Gillbard 19/20 (95%)
Roberts 12/16 (75%)Levi 20/20(100%)
Matuku 3/3 (100%)
Smith 0/0The Aussies put the foot down in that Q, winning it 19-12. 36 attempts to 23 so far. The turnovers are really mounting up on NZ, 16 compared to Aust 9.
3/4 time: AUS 45-38
Gillbard 29/31 (94%)
Roberts 16/21 (76%)Levi 32/33 (97%)
Matuku 6/6 (100%)The kiwis challenged strongly in the 3rd Q, at one stage narrowing the gap to just 3 before Australia settled. Who’s going to finish the strongest?
Full time: AUS 63-49
Well, Australia finished clearly the strongest to win by 14. But the Net Blacks improved greatly from game 1 and at times really challenged the Kelpies. Their problem has been maintaining that form for 60 minutes.
POTM: Brodie Roberts
This was a great game, very tight at times. Good to see Brodie Roberts recover from a shaky start.
Game 3:
1/4 time: AUS 17-15
Levi 15/16 (94%)
Smith 0/1 (0%)Gillbard 14/14 (100%)
Roberts 3/3 (100%)Australia started quickly, up 9-4 early on, but the kiwis fought their way back, drawing level 13-13 at one stage. This is a good contest.
1/2 time: AUS 34-30
Levi 28/29 (97%)
Matuku 0/0Gillbard 26/26 (100%)
Lee 0/0Same score as Q1 (17-15). NZ going for the long ball into Levi but the Aus defence has been able to pick a few off. Aus working well in attack, again Roberts one of the stars.
Just into the last quarter and the Kelpies have a 53-43 lead. Can the Net Blacks fight back from here?
Great game. This Kelpies outfit is so impressive.
Full time: AUS 68-54
As in the previous two tests, the Aussie Kelpies pulled away in the last Q. They win the series 3-0 but NZ showed lots of fight along the way.
For the Net Blacks, they shot at 90% (Levi 47/48), and Australia shot at 92% (Gilbard 36/36).
