I thought maybe Koenen was coming out a bit too much early on but the attack looked more stifled when she stayed back in the circle. Good to see a strong start from the Diamonds considering that has been a weakness for them. Austin hasn’t started in many of these big games so I hope to see her build into this one.
It feels like the Aus defence had to create about four opportunities for every gain in that first quarter. It will be interesting to see how the Ferns stand up to the pressure as the game continues.
