Dragons v LightningIn today’s matches, Pulse beat Bath easily, Stars just got up over Sirens, and in the big one, Thunder beat Storm 57-49.
Another capitulation by Bath tonight. Certainly, London Pulse are one of the standout teams this year but Bath continue to struggle & show no improvement. Is it down to lack of player quality of poor coaching?
I think the way that Bath completely crash in the final quarter of matches this year might be a sign of their fitness/concentration wavering. That’s the only explanation I can think of.
Nevertheless, it was always going to be tough as they’re rebuilding with a pretty different squad compared to last year, plus a new coach. We see their quality in patches but not for long enough to win games.
They do have to cope with the loss of several high quality players but they have acquired some useful replacements so should they not be gelling by now? They are not the only club to have a much changed team but Bath seem to be finding the transition so much harder. It keeps being said that they are making progress but the results do not indicate that is the case.
They gel in patches, but it’s too inconsistent to win. Like I said concentration/fitness must be a part of it.
Also, experienced players make rebuilding much easier. They have a new & inexperienced defensive combo, a new(ish) midcourt and new GA’s & inexperienced GS’s who didn’t see much court time last season.
Thunder (for example) have had many changes too, but the players new to the club are experienced and imo fit into the way Thunder play. I don’t think that Bath have developed a style of play yet.
I know it sucks for you as a Bath fan, but have faith. I predict that next season will be better for them 😁
Do you also think that a new & inexperienced head coach is part of the problem? I don’t think she has had a lot of coaching experience in the UK.
Another close game today…

Probably, I think she has experience coaching pathway teams and in Singapore, but not NSL. I think she’s learning and figuring things out too.
