Is this the worst season that Bath have ever had? There is a lot of talk about being in transition & a difficult season was to be expected but was it likely to be this bad. Questions need to be asked. Other teams are in transition but not with such dire consequences. Is it more a question of lack of quality in the players and/or the coaches rather than totally down to some players inexperience?
@BathHammer I think it probably is….and don’t forget other netball programmes have now come up to challenge Bath Uni. It used to be the ONLY place to go and play semi-pro netball, with Lyn Gunson at the helm: now the good coaches are spread all over and full time programmes mean that other teams can challenge (often with good imports to bolster homegrown talent). Can only be good for the game, and for audiences – their constant victory parade did get a bit tedious after a while!
Being competitive against Thunder was a surprise after recent debacles. Thunder have shown a recent decline in form so itβs not as much of a shock as it would have been but a shock nevertheless. I wonder what next season will bring. Will there be a further churn of players & maybe a different head coach?
