55 Steel – 37 Stars. Stars were average – Wilson has just come back from Covid so was on limited minutes. Hume isn’t there as she has an injury. Selby-Rickett is injured but will be back for the first week of the competition. Unsure where Saviour Tui is.
Mystics just beat the Magic by 8 goals I think it was. Looked a lot closer than that, no Mes for that game. Rowland played very well. Elly started in centre, she might get some variety this year. She was the starting centre at the youth World Cup so not a position she’d be totally unfamiliar with. Sokolich Beatson seems to be injured, she’s on the training partner bench. Overall was a decent game, still a lot for these teams to work on.
MSB injured again?
The poor girl can’t catch a break. Hope it’s nothing too serious. My thoughts! Albeit based on limited viewing given the streaming glitches so I really only got Mystics/Magic
I really hope MSB is only a short term injury, i love watching her play she gives it her all. However if injuries keep her down I think she should have an eye on a coaching career….? If she wants that
I was reminded of why I’m a Falkner fan. I have thought she just needed to mature as a player, maybe this is her year
Watching the pre-season with the small arena and production is fun to see who stands out. If Meels wasn’t already who she is she’d be “one to watch”.
Congrats to Georgia Takarangi, and good to have a chance to see her at WD. She’s a dynamic player and skillet is awesome for the circle but the height matters! Given that she’s a bit taller than Jane Watson and Jane is a ball-winning presence so time will tell (she’s still young).
Styth, for a tall thing she has great agility, looking forward to seeing her more
Kersten with that held ball, Winders used to have the same issue so something Magic needs to sort, don’t blame the player.
Everyone else was solid, did their job and some did it very well

Interview wit Yvette McCausland-Durie…
What does everyone think of Tactix? A chance of going from last to first?
Looks like MSB is starting today
If Marianne can’t win a title with this lineup (or very minimum make the GF and then loose it in double overtime 😊), then maybe it’s time for someone else to take the head coach role. Feels like she’s been there forever.
ANZ PREMIERSHIP PRE-SEASON
DAY 2 – SESSION 1Pulse 48 – 44 Steel
Mystics 48 – 45 StarsI think the Tactix can (if no injuries) win the title, and I’ll be blubbering with happiness.

Probably changing up their line least of all teams but Dunn is making an enormous difference to the stability of the attacking end. Koloto also can be a star with some more exposure at GA/WA.
If Malcolm fires then they really ought to take it finally. Should be a much more evenly matched comp this year.
