      3/4 time: Tbirds 40-37

Firebirds have not won a first round match before in SSN. And currently, it’s heading that way again. Firebirds could only manage 9 goals in the 3rd Q, as Tbirds took the lead. Sterling sits on 115.5 NNP already with a quarter to go.

Williams could play WA but she is more a WD, C. Horjus is the TBirds most natural WA.

Cardwell not really living up to the hype of being the converter of TBirds to championship contenders. Playing well but there are a lot of great GKs in this league. She gets Klau next week. Then gets to play Bruce Mentor Mannix and Dehaney. Like an international every week.

Out to 9 and this could get messy for Firebirds. Was always worried about their ability to stick with teams for a full 60.

Glad to see Dwan getting good court tome, I love watching her play

Big turn around in the first 5 1/2 minutes of this last quarter..T’Birds out by 9.

Is there something wrong with Wallam…she was holding her side and before that calling to the bench.

I agree Amanda, Dwan has been really useful.

Agree it will be interesting to see how Cardwell goes moving forward, but I don’t think she’s been too bad. I have confidence she will step up. I also don’t think they would have fought back into the game like this last year with Potgieter.

Also Dwan playing much better than last year. Shades of her brilliant debut at this venue.

If Thunderbird follow through to win this, Tippah is POM for me. Complete turnaround when she hit the court

I agree, she’s POM for me too but I think it’ll be Stirling.

                        Tbirds headed for victory.

It’s taken until this last Q for the Tbirds attack to look really comfortable. Cardwell struggled a bit earlier in the game, but she’s clicked into gear now. And Tippah Dwan and Tayla Williams have played very well since coming on.

Barring a massive correction, Shamera Sterling has just broken the record for highest NNP score.

Best game Dwan has played in a couple years. Brilliant. So great to watch at her best.

I think the Firebirds stood up quite well defensively but their attack fell apart as the match went on. Scored less and less each quarter with just 7 in the last.

                              T’Birds by 15 – 59 to 44.

The second line up was much much better even with shaky shooting in the 3rd quarter by Cardwell.

I also thought Garrett had a good game after she came on, she’s often the last person mentioned after Stirling and Wilson, but the Tbirds are fortunate that their third defender is as consistently good as she is.

My love of Williams continues. So NVB-esque. Would look wonderful in a green and gold dress.
