I’m going to the Vixens and Tbirds game tonight, in a Vixens scarf but in all honesty I am probably wanting the Tbirds to win. Feeling very conflicted!
Great start for Lightning, up 9-3 and Julie Fitzgerald wants to have a talk to her team.
Lightning’s turn for a time out as they lead 12-10 just into the power play period of the first Q.
1/4 time: 16-16
Good game so far, befitting of a game between 5th and 6th. Can’t split them. Scores level, same number of penalties, same number of turnovers.
Charlie Bell is on for Lightning. Koenen has moved to GA and Wood to WA. Lightning 20-19
I don’t think that move worked for Lightning. Wood gave up 3 turnovers in 8 minutes in this Q at WA. So they’ve reverted to the starting positions. 25-25
Giants 17 deflections to Lightning 1 – why arent they more ahead?
1/2 time: Lightning 31-30
Anyone’s game this. Just when one team gets on top, the other comes back. Amy Parmenter is having a brilliant game for Giants. How often do you see a WD with the highest NNP on court? Incredible stat so far: Giants 17 deflections to 1
In the power play period in the third Q and Lightning leads by 4. Matisse Letherbarrow scored one super shot, but has missed the next two.
Koenen is doing what I usually see defence do and get away with. Using your arms out wider than normal stance thus blocking the defender with arms. It’s obstruction.
3/4 time: Giants 51-50
And just like that, Giants hit the lead right on 3/4 time. With 90 seconds to go, they were trailing by 4. So far, Giants lead the super shot count 7-3. It seems like this game is going to go right down to the wire.
