Swifts v Giants
Firebirds v VixensGarbin having one of her better starts- no bad passes yet and she’s even shot 2/2, but she isn’t presenting as much as she needs to in attack.
… and just as I write that, not strong enough on the take and Garrett makes her pay.- This reply was modified 3 months, 3 weeks ago by StatsNerd21.
Collingwood playing well, like a team with nothing to lose.
1/4 time: Magpies 16-12
Great game so far. Magpies with one of their best quarters for the year. Shimona Nelson having the better of Shamera Sterling so far. Thunderbirds a bit off their game. 7 turnovers against them already.
We’ve inevitably arrived at that period of time in a Thunderbirds match when not much happens on the scoreboard. Tbirds forcing errors from the Magpies, but not converting themselves. Magpies 23-20
1/2 time: Magpies 27-23
Magpies having the better of the game so far, but Tbirds showing signs of getting back into it. Sterling & Wilson with 2 gains each in the 2nd Q. Not a great game from Cardwell to this point though with 4 turnovers.
Cardwell has been a little unlucky with some calls against her, but then she lets that impact her game. And Geva played very well against her last time too, appears to be a repeat today.
Great to see Sophie Casey get on court for the Thunderbirds, another promising young South Aussie.
Did Geva’s jump sweep from behind on the shot just work for the first time ever?!
Very small crowd at the game, typical for Collingwood games.
Time out called. Thunderbirds struggling in attack right now. Austin started the Q but has been replaced by Dwan. Magpies up 35-26 and sniffing an upset.
The Magpies are playing like they did in Round 1. Their fans must be wondering where this performance has been all this time. Thunderbirds getting really frustrated and flustered – making so many mistakes as a result. They need to get this out of their system before finals.
