Tbirds attack is so broken. Horjus isn’t even shooting, why put her in GA and Dwan in WA??? Credit to Lightning for the way their own attack is carving up the court in contrast.
What is happening to the Tbirds. Don’t look like the team that beat Fever
3/4 time: Lightning 46-34
It’s a long way back for Thunderbirds from here. Lightning is just playing too well currently. Some of the passing in their attack end is just brilliant. In contrast, the Tbirds attack just not clicking. Tippah Dwan with 5 turnovers.
After tonight, I hate to say it but I don’t see Thunderbirds with much of a chance in winning the premiership this year. The last two weeks they haven’t been themselves at all, their attacking end continues to persist as an issue and I’m not sure what it is specially that has to change.
Tbirds coming back but have they left it too late??? 7 the difference with 2 minutes left.
Was that a supershot from Cardwell? The score only went up by 1
FULL TIME: Lightning win 56-54
Too little too late from the Thunderbirds. But wow, Cardwell and Austin together really is something.
Full time: Lightning wins 56-54!
The Thunderbirds came home like a train but just couldn’t quite get there! That last quarter was 20-10 in their favour. They’ll be frustrated. Where was that form in the first three Qs? POTM is Mahalia Cassidy. Well deserved.
Not a good result for Tbirds. They scored 6 super shots in that final quarter which helped them get so close. They also pulled in 4 possession gains, their highest in any quarter. Lightning was comfortably the better team for the first 55 minutes however.
Ava Black had a great game tonight. I’m sure they’ve pencilled her in for next year. Same with Ash Ervin.
That is some scary form that Tbirds are capable of, in that last quarter.
Cardwell thrives on pressure, she actuals plays better when under pressure. Pressure doesn’t allow her to think, she just turns and shots…………literally from anywhere!I know Harten intends to play on next year, but if she does retire do you think Giants would go for an established GS GA or an up-and-comer and back in Letherbarrow as a starter?
1/2 time: Fever 37-33
As expected, a high scoring close encounter. One surprise is the 4 turnovers alongside Jhaniele Fowler’s name. She still has 30/31 though. Courtney Bruce has 5 gains for Fever while Amy Parmenter is having a cracking game for Giants.
The Fever defence is all over Giants at the moment and threatening to run right away with this game. Fever now up 49-39 halfway through the 3rd quarter.
