Lightning is just playing SO well right now. So fast, so free flowing. They lead 19-14 and the Miller-Wood-Koenen combo is having a field day.
SCL looking very slick. Good combos all over the court and pretty netball to watch.
Tremendous first quarter. Lightning goes in 21-14 ahead. Firebirds haven’t played badly, but Lightning has just been on another level. Firebirds will have to try to do something about the Lightning attack. It’s so potent right now.
Remi Kamo comes off and is replaced by Ash Unie.
By the way, Firebirds are known as fast starters. They regularly win the first Q, so for Lightning to take it by 7 goals was a big effort. They now lead by 11.
Not sure what the Fbirds can do here. Their most experienced shooters and circle defenders are only in their second year and it shows.
Charlie Bell comes on for her debut at GS, Koenen moves to GA and Wood has a rest with 80 NNP next to her name!
1/2 time: Lightning 39-21
That second Q was a poor one for the home team. Lightning won it 18-7. Firebirds’ lack of experience in both circles is showing at the moment. Turnovers are 15-11 against them and penalties 32-19. They’ll have to dig deep now.
Seeing on twitter that the Tbirds Swifts match may not go ahead due to issues with the decals on the court? Would be highly embarrassing if that were to happen
Mass changes for Firebirds to start the second half. The line up now is:
Wallam
Moore
Dunkley
Gardner
Ravaillion
Unie
Bakewell-DoranLightning leads 42-25.
Definitely an improved showing from Firebirds in this quarter. They trail by 15.

Firebirds won the third Q by 3 and they trail by 15 overall (54-39). That was far more encouraging for the home side, but Lightning still leading comfortably and playing well.
