Halfway through the first Q and it’s the Romelda v Donnell show so far. 11-11
Great game. That’s 1/4 time and it can’t be any closer. 20-20. Wallam has got all 20 of Firebirds’ goals. Swifts more evenly shared.
Wow, BIG difference in the second quarter. All of a sudden, both teams struggling with turnovers. 30-30
Wallam already 32/33! If FBs can keep this up all game she’ll score a ridiculous number of goals. Good game to watch, a bit scrappy but has everything!
1/2 time: Firebirds 40-37
Exciting game. Maybe not going how many expected. Swifts have made several changes, while Firebirds stuck with their starting side. And it’s worked. They’ve made just FIVE turnovers in a half. Donnell Wallam has 38/40 to half time!
Mia Stower currently has just 2/4, but she is playing exactly the sort of role that Firebirds need. Previously, she has been perhaps too willing to shoot. Today, she is concentrating on feeding Wallam and along with Dunkley and Ravaillion, it’s working well.
For Swifts, Helen Housby is keeping them in the game with a terrific display of shooting.
Donnell Wallam, I don’t believe that. That was just incredible!!!
Firebirds 46-42
Donnell Wallam has just landed her 50th goal and there’s still a third of the game to go.
