Again Vixens miss a loose ball. 3 Vixens v Koenen and Koenen gets it.
Lightning are a totally different team than last week.
Was that really a step by Wood? Would love a replay of that.
Eddy is so underrated. Why was she on the bench to start? Great impact.
3/4 time. Vixens 47-45.
This has been a good fightback. That was a much stronger performance by Vixens in the 3rd Q. Austin and Kumwenda really standing up under pressure, and the introduction of Kate Eddy was crucial as she came up with 2 big gains.
All of a sudden, the Vixens defence putting Lightning’s attack end under real pressure and coming up with gains. The lead is out to 5 now for Vixens as we approach the power 5 period in the last Q.
Lightning didn’t score for over 5 minutes. Vixens seemingly controlling the game. But now Wood scores a super shot! Vixens 58-52
It was Vixens’ defence that spooked Giants in the last quarter last week.
Quality game by Eddy, she’s so underrated. Those long pesky arms.
Vixens take the win 60-56!
Great game. Lightning was on top in that first half, but Vixens slowly but surely got themselves into the game and to be fair, they controlled most of that last Q. Kiera Austin was adjudged POTM.
Wood/Koenen were brilliant – 231.5 NNP(!) between them. But Lightning mid-court found wanting, and Pretorius had a very quiet game against Austin.
+1 about Kate Eddy. Arms everywhere and manages to haul in some of Weston’s dodgy passes on attack.
Diminishing returns for Koenen: 13, 12, 11, 5.
Vixens’ score in their first 4 games:
