SSN Fun Fact: Ash Brazill is the only current Collingwood player who has actually played in a winning Magpies team against Giants. That was 6 years ago. The two teams have played each other 14 times in SSN and incredibly, the record is 13-1 in Giants' favour! #SSN2023 #GIAvMAG

Good start to Giants. Up 11-7 just after halfway through the first Q. Magpies a little guilty of getting in each other’s way in the attack end. 3 turnovers against Sophie Garbin so far.

1/4 time: Giants 20-15

An entertaining first Q, but lots of turnovers. Despite that, attack is on top. Magpies finished the quarter well after starting poorly. Price and Harten (12/12) both playing well for Giants and Kelsey Browne for Magpies.

Halfway through the second Q and 13 turnovers already against Magpies. That’s just too many. Giants are up 29-20 and threatening to run away with this.

Jamie-Lee Price is everywhere. As well as 8 assists, she’s leading the gains as well with 4, including 3 intercepts. Giants 31-23

A Sophie Dwyer super shot right on halftime seals an 11 goal lead for giants. They’re doing everything right at the moment and Magpies don’t seem to have any answers. Giants looking stronger all over the court except for Kelsey Browne.

3/4 time: Giants 49-38

That was a more even quarter. Magpies were far more competitive, but they haven’t been able to eat into the margin. The lead is still 11 going to the last Q, and although they’re being tested, Giants appear to have things under control.
