The combo of Watson – Austin – Kumwenda is working well, and when that happens, it usually means a Vixens win. Swifts will have to try to force some errors out of them. Vixens 57-50
Cant pick who is going to win this. Could come down to a Housby super shot yet again.
Here come the Swifts. Klau comes up with a cruial intercept and the lead is back to 2!
The crowd’s getting right into this. That’s now 3 turnovers against Vixens in fairly quick succession and Swifts take the lead!
Swifts 65-63
SWIFTS HAVE IT!!! Kumwenda missed with a super shot attempt to take the lead, Swifts rebounded, then played the ball round for a full minute to take the win. WHAT A GAME!
Full time: Swifts 67-66
Romelda Aiken-George a well deserved POTM!
67-66 to Swifts after playing the last minute in possession.
With 90 seconds to go in the 3rd Q, Vixens looked well on top. They led by 9. Then Helen Housby landed 2 super shots to narrow the gap to 6 at 3/4 time and it gave them a chance. They kept plugging away and eventually they forced the turnovers in that last Q.
Proud smoked Moloney! Great game to watch
In the space of a week, Swifts have won back to back games by a margin of just one, and on both occasions, it was by virtue of scoring two more super shots than their opposition. Against both Lightning and Vixens, Swifts had one less successful attempt.
A bright and breezy start. Firebirds up 5-3 after 3 minutes. And they’ve forced another turnover. 7-3 after 4 minutes!
Wallam starting very well, her hold is really clear for the feeders lately.
Emily Moore also looking impressive and showing she deserves the start. Some great feeds from her into Wallam, she’s not getting in the way of Gardner or Dunkley, and she seems to have a good awareness of when she should take the shot or pass off.
