Can’t blame Taurua for sloppy passing but she needs to look at that centre court (starting 7) as well as Wilson not prepared to shoot from further out. Georgia Heffernan would be more than worth having in the 10 – she played so well in the Cadbury series last year and she goes to the hoop from anywhere. Ekenasio was outstanding today but she can’t carry the other shooters on her back.
Sasha was a dominate force. If SDL didn’t come off the score would’ve pulled out.
Nz had no answers, I could see on Noel’s face, their performance was eating them up.Did not expect that at all, B team BOOM!!
but I have to admit I didn’t think they’d win.
Nice words from Halli :rose:
I need to add – surprised at the result, not particularly. Surprised at the English squad named yes, but the English league is good. NZ defence was always going to struggle with Glasgow and her Australian experience and skills. SDL – Ive always liked her play and shooting, was surprised she was just a reserve for World Cup.

The Wilson and Eke combo isn’t working for me. As Jodi B said I expect more from them. I belive MRB would have fed Wilson better.
Metuarau isn’t flowing my boat either, IMO her SF debut was great, fast 5 very disappointing and her NWC was below average. I’m not sure she’s your next SF GA.
Must say Ekenasio and her shooting was a very bright shine for the ferns. But once she retires Ferns are #^&%$^$#%#%$%^$%
Okay that happened.
SF have seen the unknown Roses. Where to next? Normally I would say the SF will bounce back but I’m not feeling it after that game.
Ekenasio carried the GA and GS position. I’d probably look at putting Walmsley on at some point, just because someone needs to play GS.Who do the silver ferns have in the wings for GA depth?
Magic – Eke/Tui/Rowland
Steel – Fisher/Heffernan/Namana
Mystics – Vui/Glen/Nweke
Stars – Wilson/Samason/Maelasala
Tactix – Dunn/TPSR/Allan
Pulse – Walmsley:Tiana/WilliamsNot much depth there. A lot of GS, but not much for GA. And a GA who’s willing to put shots up
The Vitality Roses take a 1-0 series lead in the Taini Jamison Trophy ????

next game Walmsley and Ekenasio need to start with MRB at wing attack and Gordon at centre. WD Heffernan with Burger-Watson combo.
