Diamonds look very tired and flat footed.
The Aussie’s seemed to have trouble adjusting to some of the umpiring interpretations in this game.
I thought the diamonds looked tired and lacked urgency. Almost like they expected everything to be served to them on a silver platter, rather than work for it.
Full time: Australia 76 v Scotland 37
MVP Jamie-Lee Price had 16 assists and 5 gains. Sophie Garbin is making a strong claim as number 1 GS after 38/40 in the first half.
Solid effort today from Scotland who are showing definite signs of improvement.
Full time: Barbados 62 v Zimbabwe 45
This game was won in the first half. It’s a BIG turnaround from 4 years ago when Zimbabwe won 66-41
The Corbin sisters no doubt helping with the Bajans’ improvement. One shining light for the Gems is Nalani Makunde who shot 30/33.

GK JuryRauluni in tears on the bench after a heavy knock from Lwazi. Fingers crossed it’s just a corked thigh or something.
Kadeem C looked really composed
Ferns took a while to settle.
No interception until Q2 and who else but Karin.
Can’t wait to see TM later in this game
1/2 time:
Wales 16 v New Zealand 40
(Very strong first half from the Ferns – just 5 turnovers and shooting at 98%)Fiji 23 v Malawi 36
(after a 10 goal win in the first Q, Malawi stretched that lead by 3 in the 2nd Q)Such a massive loss for NZ in losing Nweke
However I have felt NZ midcourt were feeding the ball better to TPSR/Wilson, then to Nweke.
Against Wales, the court is quite open for them and they’re getting some nice feeds into the shooters. Is this team good enough to win gold? 🤷♂️
Absolutely devastated for Grace! She deserved to have a good crack at this tournament.
Just a thought… whilst I know injuries are unpredictable I think this shows exactly why Toeva wasn’t selected, yes she feeds Grace the best of all but her versatility (both position and player connections) outside of that is not on the same level as the others selected. With no Grace and Peta in the team I think would’ve been a real hindrance whereas now they make the switch with the shooters and carry on with the best possible mid-court for all shooting combinations.
Obviously it’s going to be very different playing teams like Jamaica in the coming days, but I think NZ did really well considering. Feeds were going in very smoothly and movement was good
Full time: New Zealand 83 v Wales 44
A comprehensive win by the Silver Ferns – only 10 turnovers. Maia Wilson put in a dominant performance at GS with 49/49 in 3 Qs while Jane Watson had 6 gains in a half. Wales fought it out till the end with the 4th Q their best.
