      1/2 time:

      Jamaica 38 v Uganda 21
(Well, Jamaica really put the foot down in that Q and Uganda couldn’t quite go with them)

      Singapore 26 v Sri Lanka 27
(That Q was 17-7 to Sri Lanka and this time it was Singapore with the turnovers)

        3/4 time:

        Jamaica 49 v Uganda 37
(That Q showed what can happen when Jamaica gives their stars a rest. Uganda won it 16-11)

        Singapore 42 v Sri Lanka 40
(This is a tight one between the two Asian teams – Singapore won that Q by 3)

Full time: Singapore 55 v Sri Lanka 52

This may have been two of the lower ranked teams, but what a tense last Q as Singapore held on. Defender Jamie Lim was MVP but special mention to Kai Wei Toh and Amandeep Chahal for some fearless shooting under pressure!

            Full time: Jamaica 61 v Uganda 49

Jamaica scored 23 in the whole 2nd half, which was as many as they scored in the 2nd Q. Clearly it’s the plan to give Fowler, Beckford and Sterling a rest, but it allowed a plucky Uganda team to win the 3rd Q and draw the last.

I’m a little worried for SA, that loss to Jamaica has certainly shaken them up. They are playing wide and not penetrating the middle channel. Most of their shots are from outside. That won’t work against nz!!
More prelim moves are needed to get free.

England win 72-46 vs a spirited Tonga side. Q3 was only 16-14 in England’s favour!

Imo Allison a v well-deserved POM and after a full game at both C and WD, being in everything and anything with some cracking cross-court intercepts and tips. Giving smidges of baby Serena Guthrie at times, she hasn’t really had much time at C at club level so it’s been fab to see her rise to the challenge on the big stage. Would be nice if the interviewer would stop thinking Allison is her first name though 😅

Veve and Palavi excellent for Tonga as always. Their real MVPs were their supporters though, they all broke into a really beautiful full choirsong for the last 5 minutes. Worth searching for a clip online. Almost therapeutic to hear on TV, must’ve been mesmerising to hear in person.

Sat behind the Tongan Family Support Group: OMG it was wonderful when they started their singing in that last quarter: like being in a Disney movie listening to Moana!

Mind u earlier on in the match when they did their foot stomping war beat it wasnt so therapeutic!!!

Wow the stadium is near empty for this match, not one stand is full.

Cholhok should really be in SSN. I don’t think it would necessarily be popular if she got recruited because she’d probably kick out a local player, but she really is more dominant than all the SSN shooters except for Fowler, Wallace and Cardwell. The obvious place for her to go would be Giants or the 8th team (but I expect they’ll prioritise Nelson).
