Thirlby persisting with Metcalf on Braz and Malcolm at WD Vs Watson :wacko: Although Funmi and Chelsea on for impact, if timed correctly, should work well.

Lots of chat about this still just being a group game, but loser will almost certainly play Jamaica in the semis so that seems like a good incentive for both sides to go for the win!

England looking like the better, more confident in the first 10. They lead 12-7.

Australia need Price on asap. Attack is lacking decisiveness and space and the ball is going into the circle far too easily for England. Price would slow that up.

Actually changed my mind. I think I’d take Wood off. Trying to do way too much outside of the circle. Give space to Watson and Hadley to bring it through and hit circle edge. Take a front cut or a strong drive down the middle to draw the defenders off Koenen in the circle.

That’s actually a good call. The Diamonds attack is very indecisive and lacking structure. Price would cut through that well and bring greater defensive pressure on Malcolm (who is absolutely dominating at the moment).
Taking Wood off would also help with that. I think they need someone who’s more confident in their shot.

1/4 time: Australia 13 v England 15

Great start by England, they have the Diamonds rattled, at one stage leading by 5 before a late fightback in the Q from Australia. Both teams have missed just one attempt so far and both teams with 5 turnovers.

Oh Bruce is back. Now at GD. I guess a Marinkovich can’t leave her girl off for too long. Now let’s hope she doesn’t go into her hyper attack mode and try for the glory long balls.
