Full time Mystics 63 – Stars 55
Well imo Grace had the worst game for a long time. Lots of missed first shots (did get most rebounds), an air ball and at least two bombs to others chucked straight across and out of court. As a team they were mostly very hesitant, being way too careful. When they got their flow they were very impressive but it was few and far between.
Kate Burley created havoc for them, consistently hounding as she always does.Anyway Mystics are through for another week.
You just know the Mystics are going to steam roll the other teams in the finals.
OK I have to say it, I’m bored with the ANZ.
Tonight is the biggest game of the season so far! Pulse vs Tactix to determine who hosts the grand final or the preliminary final. I can’t wait! I think the team that keeps one of their GS on all game will win. I don’t think the swap at half time has been working for either Tactix or Pulse. May the best team win.
Wondering is something is happening with Ekenasio.
on her Instagram post yesterday, Burger commented that she’ll miss the battles with her.
TPSR and Watson have also put posts out regarding EkeWatson’s post was to Ekenasio and her team (re Magic missing out on the finals). Burger’s post re ‘will miss the battles’ I assume also related to not facing the Magic in either the Elim or Grand Final versus a retirement post.
Well I hope that’s all Weewood, Ferns would be utterly cooked without Meels. But hmmm!!!!
Meels may be signing with a SSN team. She’s coming to the end of her playing career so SF may not be a massive consideration anymore, if she couldn’t get an exemption.
If Meels doesn’t get a exemption, then Netball NZ need a spank.
Agreed – while we don’t want a ‘second rate’ competition in NZ the top 5-6 netballers need more of a challenge. This year has shown that the ANZ needs imports of quality and even more than that, those netballers need to be playing not bench sitting. I thought that all six teams would fire from the start this year but in fact initially it was a 3/3 split. SF teams struggle with different playing styles in international competition and they’re certainly not getting to play against these styles over here.
Pulse leading 16-10 after the first quarter. Some pretty soft turnovers from TPSR and Dunn. If I were MDH I’d be getting Bird on quick smart. Salmon and Metuarau are making Watson and Burger look very average to start.
23-14 to the Pulse. TPSR has given away a turnover and an offensive contact to start the second quarter.
Tiana is an enigma. When she is on I actually think she’s world class. Now onto her third GD in 25 minutes.
31-22 to the Pulse at half time and it’s hard to see the Tactix turning this around..
Pulse are all over this game, hard to see Tactix coming back. TBH Tactix defensive end don’t have the height either and while they definitely have the hops Metuarau is providing too much movement. However she may be lucky not to receive a warning if she doesn’t tidy up her contacts).
Still time for the Tactix though. -
