Oh man, I tipped Magic over Mystics.
The Mystics heritage dress is a bit of fun. 2008 throwback.
Gee I’m a true blue fan of Nweke but it is a pleasure to watch this new Mystics attacking line. Vui is putting up more goals in a quarter than she would in 60 minutes in front of Nweke. Thoroughly enjoying seeing her increased volume.
Another strong start for the Mystics without their lynchpin.
Oh dear, Magic REALLY struggling. Mystics up 29-10 halfway through the 2nd Q!
Magic are following Giants’ lead….didn’t score for 8:10 mins.
A sick Ekenasio would be 10 times better than this disaster.
Magic really missing Eke. Glad to see ACD back in the mix, a natural C.
I hope Magic keep this same lineup for the second half, I feel they can build on this lineup. Fair enough to say, this game is out of their reach for them.
What I got from the end of Taurua’s in-match commentary interview is that she’s going to bring in some new blood into the Silver Ferns. Hope to see Mason and Vui in the Ferns squad.
What’s people’s thoughts on Samason? She hasn’t been great whilst on court but also not getting a lot of court time. Is it because Maia is usually the GA but doesn’t play GA very well and it’s also a very similar style to what Samason plays?
Would she do better in another ANZ team, if so where? Or would it be better for her career to seek an opportunity in VNSL to get more time or genuine minutes on court? Cause when she played more minutes for vixens she played better all round. She hasn’t been very accurate and her shot selection is shocking. Plus, when you have a GS in front of you playing GA it’s not going to flow very well. Maia isn’t a GA and I don’t think ever will be. I don’t see her in the Black dress again unless she nails the GA position which again I don’t think she will.
It was a good 2nd half comeback from Magic but the damage was well and truly done. 54-44
Samason looks very out-of-shape to me. I wonder if her lack of court time is a fitness issue?
I liked Magic’s lineup in that second half. I’m not too sure how long Eke is out for, but add her to that lineup and they have a strong team.
It is surprising to hear that Samason’s accuracy is down, it’s the one thing she was well known for at Vixens.
According to the ANZP website Samason is running at 61% (17 goals from 28 attempts) across 5 games. 52 minutes total court time..
