The 3 point zone (or 6), is a very long way from the post, if someone can sink a shot from that far away then they deserve to get the rewards. I’m not a big fast 5 fan, but it’s got good crowds this year. It’s the last year for Christchurch, not sure if it’s happening next year or not.
I like Fast5, the win by default was a shame but I love a 6 pointer! It’s a great opportunity to see up and coming players from different countries and have a fun day of netball without worrying about consequences. Looks absolutely exhausting for the players though.
POTM for NZ v SA was Rolene Streutker.

I dont mind watching it from the perspective of seeing some future internationals in action, and it’s a bit of fun too. But it does remind me how much I like regular netball!

“Kimone Shaw – deliberate penalty during PP ”I like the change that 1 point shots are no longer doubled in the power play. I think instead of the 1/2/3 point shots being worth 1/4/6, i think it should change to being worth 1/3/6. Sinking two 2 point shots shouldn’t be worth more than sinking a 3 point shot.
I also like the rule of not going backwards. One new rule they could try is a shot timer during the power play – yes, it would resemble basketball so can see it being hated my the majority. My justification for this is that the winning team can waste time to prevent the chasing team from getting possession. I haven’t seen the “use it” call once it gets in to the circle. The shooters can kind of pass it around a lot and with only 2 minutes in the power play, every second counts for the chaser.

Al PunshonI cannot understand Australia’s strategy for the first quarter.
Some quick held balls being called
I can’t understand the power hungry male ref!!
the tactics/stratergies of all the teams definitely seem very different from previous years – used to be pretty much switch half way through the 1/4 – but I kinda like it
Australia what are you doing?? Losing Jenner has been hard on our defenders but there’s no excuse to be throwing this many balls directly to NZ or over the sidelines. Not to take anything away from NZ’s defence, which has been outstanding, especially Burley.
NZ defence on song in that half! And the Aussies hesitant to shoot. Those two things combine for a shocking first half for Aus.
Well it’s hard to win when Ferns only had 1 decent long range shooter.
Great 1st half, went into their shell 2nd. -
