England commentators sound stressed at halftime.

Congrats to Taylor Earle and Amorangi Malesala on coming on for their test debuts in the 2nd Q.

Meanwhile for England, Ellie Rattu came on for Imogen Allison who received attention for a leg injury on the sideline. Hopefully it’s not too serious.

After going goal for goal for most of the 3rd Q, the Roses scored 5 of the last 6 goals to take a 3 goal lead (46-43) at the last break. Still anyone’s game though.

Imogen Allison is back out there in the last Q with her left knee strapped up. England leading by 2 with 10 minutes left.

                  ENGLAND WINS!!!

There you go, NZ gained possession and were in a position to score what would have been the equalising goal when up popped Funmi Fadoju with the winning intercept!

What a disaster last 10 seconds. One more game from Noel’s and hopefully she moves away.

Congrats to Taylor Earle and Amorangi Malesala.

I’m so pleased for Amo and she looked good out there too.

Cracking game by both teams, I loved the way the Ferns come back, especially Burger pickpocketing HH to get possession call in the D but FF spoilt the party at the end.

The key for me was Raz, she’s getting better every game. She came up with a few flying interceptions against OZ and held her own with the tall shooters in this series. IMO she could be the key to the Roses winning tomorrow B-)

@mcleod you may be right, DNT may step away after the
Uganda game but I hope she gives Burley her debut first.

In fact I think this game was ideal for Burley it’s a shame she wasn’t on the bench

For me NZ have had a lot of talk about fitness but we seem to be the team that’s lagging the most and can’t run out full games. The movement stops and we look knackered.

Karaka in my opinion needs to go she’s our most experienced defender but it’s not showing out on court for me. Burley at least goes for ball and contests. It’s also not very inspiring when your captain isn’t even singing the national anthem.

This is such a fascinating series for the Australian midcourt. Hadley really should start the final in WA. Watson’s SSN form has started to bleed through to Diamonds which it hasn’t till now. Vixens weren’t just putting Mundy in WA due to her emergence but because it was the best move for their attack generally. Marinkovich should copy the play and start Watson in C letting Hadley control WA. Albeit full credit to Moloney who was very attacking minded against Uganda, playing with Garbin might bring out her best circle feeding or confidence to let it go? Either way I’d imagine the bun will stay  Moloney has proven her worth in the 12 and why she was selected ahead of Parmenter. WD has also been well covered overall. As much as I am loving Hadley finally getting a chance to play significant WA minutes I still think as I did after last year’s tests that Diamonds need to get a new attacking midcourter (or two) in to debut asap.

Is Weston on managed minutes? Playing well but limited?

Congratulations to Klau on 50 caps. Phenomenal achievement.

To me NZ would have had a better series if they had actually had some team trainings after Xmas instead of only assembling as a squad in England. Apparently it’s a scheduled break which potentially needs moving.
However I don’t know that removing Noel’s will make a difference. I know McKeod will never get over the fact Poi isn’t in the SF but she still has an opportunity is she is outstanding in an ANZ year. I was pleased to see Earl on and running lines properly, none of the floating (like Poi – memories of Taieri) that she sometimes does during ANZ. Re defence Jury is not the answer. She’s still chasing, won’t/can’t jump.
If Noel’s goes then who? Plenty of ANZ coaches but none with consistent winning form excepting YMD and she stepped right out for a reason that begins this year.

                                Hmm,

@maryann yes, if not DNT then who?? For some reason I feel Kiri W is next. She gets a lot out of her players, hence Stars reaching those finals unexpectedly.

YMD, I’m not sure NNZ is ready for her style and isn’t due still linked with the Southby era

@Tully shouldn’t Marinkovich be blooding the next set of Diamonds for the NWC?? Surely Watson won’t be the captain in 3 years time

Close game. Despite England choking in the last 5 minutes we still couldn’t even beat them! Taurua should step down. As usual the subs rotation were all over the place. Must be horrendous playing under her as coach. You’d never know whether you were going to make the game day squad or get on the court even. Or else worse get called out publicly for not being fit enough for her.

Nweke is saving Taurua from nz getting completely exposed with lack of exciting, winning netball.

Taurua’s win loss record must speak for itself now. Even though she won the WC eight years ago that’s ancient history. You’re only as good your last win… She’s costing nnz money. We can see that with sky offering them only half the sponsorship money compared to the previous year. Clearly no club has rung Taurua from the SSN. Just saying.

Not having a successor is not an excuse not to let Taurua go. I’d like to see McCausland Durie take over and if she’s not available then Bloxham.
                                  That’s my 2c worth. :bye:
