Will be interesting to see how Wallam and Austin combine.
An exciting first quarter ends with Australia up 15-12. Donnell Wallam dominating for the Diamonds. Both sides would be a bit disappointed with some poor turnovers.
Wallam 13/13 (100%)
Austin 2/2 (100%)Cholhok 7/9 (78%)
Eyaru 5/5 (100%)A frantic half of netball! Lots of short passing by Uganda. Liz Watson has had a few turnovers. Not sure if they were correct calls. Wallam playing well.
A lot of pushing and arms flying everywhere. I hope there are no injuries. At half time, Australia leads 29-25. The She-Cranes got the gap down to 1 goal during that Q. The Ugandan keepings-off possession style seemingly had the Aussies frustrated.
Wallam 23/24 (96%)
Austin 6/7 (86%)Cholhok 16/21 (76%)
Eyaru 9/9 (100%)Interesting that Tamsin Greenway says the Aussie attack line is not working and lacks spark.
Liz Watson having another frustrating game with just 8 assists and 4 turnovers to her name. The entire attack end for the Diamonds has been replaced. Garbin, Koenen, Hadley & Moloney come on for Wallam, Austin, Watson & Aryang while Price goes to WD.
Moloney dominated like Watson usually does. A very strong quarter from her with 10 assists as the rejigged attack end worked well. It was a struggle for Uganda as the turnovers unfortunately mounted up.
3/4 time: AUS 48-36
Wallam & Bruce back on for the last Q and Weston also on at WD. All 12 Diamonds have got at least a quarter. 9 of Uganda’s 12 have got on court so far.
Australia leads by 10 with 9 minutes left.
Full time! Australia runs out winners 63-49 in the inaugural test between these two nations. Well played to Uganda who really took it up to the Australians, especially in the first half.
Congrats to Sarah Klau on 50 tests.
Australia win by 14. I think the 3rd quarter attack line really established the win with their speed and variation.
The Uganda coach says that his team needs to start lifting weights to counteract the physicality of the Australian players!!!It’s quarter time and England leads 15-14 after a fast paced opening 15 minutes. A lot of possession changes. Silver Ferns with 8 turnovers against them to the Roses’ 6.
Great injections from the debutants of Malesala and Earle! 1/2 half time NZ 31 – 30 ENG
Well, this is a cracking game. The Ferns won that 2nd Q 17-15 and lead 31-30 at 1/2 time. Nweke proving a great target for the kiwis while Housby is having a stormer of a game for the home team. Stats close all round as you’d expect with this score.
