IMO the hardest competition will be for GD/WD spots.

Hopefully there will be a rotating squad for at least those positions, to give players the chance.

Would be happy to see a bolter (Catherine Hall) or recall (Mikaere)picked as back up Gk, though also like Kate Burley, even though she’s a little shorter than a typical GK.

Suspect fitness standards could hold back a couple of players who might otherwise get in, esp in the shooting end.

I think Taurua has taken the right approach allowing a wide range of in form players to compete for spots. Although I’m not expecting too many surprises within the actual squad.

Same, if you compare the Elimination final and Grand Final, Toeavas’ impact was limited in the GF compared to the EF, because of Ioanes’ impact. Also, I thought Malesala was hard done by not getting a trial. Never reached her potential this season because of her injury and the Stars poor season.

No Bird, but I’m guessing choosing to continue her retirement.

Noels doesn’t seem to like the tagging/shutdown style WD that Ioane and Savai’inaea represent.

Relatively short on GA options considering Ekenasio is unlikely to complete this cycle and Metuarau would not meet fitness targets.

I saw mentioned (facebook) that Vui was unavailable but facebook isn’t often the best source.
Ioane – I wonder if her wedding is soon so maybe unavailable too.

I wouldn’t count out Kelly Jackson being the back up GA lol
