Tied up! The new young shooter is impressive.
Excellent shooting from Lily Graham. A shame the Vixens haven’t used her more previously.
Fever lost their way in attack when Beckford had to off. The speed that she and ATN play kept the Vixens’ heads turning. They have a lot more time now.
1/2 time: 34-34
Just like that, the situation is reversed. With Fever leading 31-23 entering the power five, Vixens went on an 11-3 run largely thanks to Lily Graham with 4 super shots!
Gains: FEV 5-4
Penalties: 37-37
Turnovers: VIX 8-6Lily Graham has been rewarded for her late second quarter heroics by being left on for the third. Vixens lead 40-38
Graham showing this game why she got the contract. Some very nice movement, passing and shooting.
Good for Graham! Gorgeous shooting action and some Koenen-like baseline drives.
3/4 time: 52-52
We’re all locked up going into the last quarter. Exciting finish coming up. The rookies starring for Vixens, both Lily Graham and Zara Walters who is up to 24 assists.
Gains: FEV 8-4
Penalties: VIX 52-50
Turnovers: VIX 9-7Garbin has the ire of the umpire, she can’t do anything right today. Just get the feeling Fever will run away with this.
Disappointing to see the reactions to the umpires calls (or non-calls) from two Diamonds players. They need to be able to stand up to this.
Fever wins by 1!!!
I don’t blame them for having some emotion about it, it’s not like they were playing differently today compared to other games, and it is tricky to adjust in that context. They’re not robots.
Full time: FEV 68-67
This was a high quality contest that came right down to the final seconds. POTM was Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard with 60/61, while Kadie-Ann Dehaney was also strong. Best for Vixens were Kate Moloney and Zara Walters.
Janelle can step in and push the ball into the player or use her elbow to get space and receive the ball. She steps in and they are 3ft but get called. Some dubious decisions in this match. Janelle a protected species. I dislike having in any team more than two imports. This is helping Jamaica , England and everybody else. Don’t be surprised when we lose because of imports. Go young Aussies. Support Australians.
1/4 time: THU 15-12
At times, the Tbirds looked like putting a big space between them and the Swifts in the first Q, but in the end, they lead by just 3.
Gains: THU 3-0
Penalties: SWI 16-12
Turnovers: 6-6 -
