I’m disappointed there is only one game on Mother’s Day. Wonder why they moved a game to Friday for this weekend? Seems like Mother’s Day would be a good day to promote the sport and drag a few extra family members along with the Mums.
There was a clash at RAC Arena for the Fever game- apparently there is a ‘world title triple header boxing event’ on Sunday.
Cassidy, Bruce and Black are all out for Lightning! Hope it’s not too serious, especially for Cassidy who has had more than her fair share of injuries.
Replaced by Maddie Hinchliffe, Annie Miller and Shannon Eagland. Ervin will need another big game, hopefully she can stand up against the struggling Giants shooters.
Maddie Hinchliffe will remain in the game day squad this weekend in place of Ava Black, while Courtney Bruce and Mahalia Cassidy have been replaced by Shannon Eagland and Annie Miller.

Vixens have named a team list that does not include Zara Walters.
Squad member Ruby Barkmeyer will join our game day team again for Round 5 against the Swifts as Zara Walters continues her recovery from a lower back injury. pic.twitter.com/68orpjIXfp

I think Lightning still might get up, depends how the Ward vs Wood battle goes. But I won’t be surprised if Giants win.
Vixens would be pretty happy Mundy and Walters weren’t injured simultaneously!
ATN looks a little bit off the pace IMO, I’ve seen her rubbing her calf while Jhaniele is shooting. Influence of Veve? Or something else? Her stats are still good though!
1/4 time: Fever 26-16
At this rate, Fever’s on target to beat the 97 they scored here last year! It’s a relentless green machine at this point. Jhaniele Fowler with 22/22 in the first quarter! Shanice Beckford only had 2 attempts but they were bot super shots!
Ruth Aryang came on for her debut and had an impact.
What a pass from ATN to JFN!
Fever dominating at 34-19 and Firebirds call a time out.
Firebirds defenders are so close to getting a lot of these balls- they’re doing a brilliant job of pushing Jhaniele high in the circle. But her hands are always so high up and so strong!
