Time out Lightning. They lead 12-10 after a good competitive start. This is the best that Giants have looked for a while.
1/4 time: 17-17
Well, that was entertaining. A much improved Giants team taking it up to Lightning and we go to the first break level. Just 2 turnovers against Giants in the first Q. At this stage last week, they had 7! Chelsea Pitman has started well.
This is the Giants side I was expecting to see all season. Ward seems to be everywhere
24-24. We’ve got a nice even game with few errors so far.
1/2 time: Giants 37-36
This is the first time Giants have led at any break this year. Again, the super shot playing a part for both these teams, Giants with 6 and Lightning only 2. Giants have outscored Lightning 17-10 while the super shot has been in play.
52-52 as Julie Fitzgerald calls a time out. This game is a long way from the first two one-sided games of this round.
3/4 time: Giants 55-54
Not sure what happened at the end of that Q with the Giants. In any case they missed a chance to score what could have been a vital late goal, and they go into the last Q up by 1. You get the feeling this is going right down to the wire.
Win or lose, there’s been way more fight and enthusiasm from Giants today. This is a much improved performance.
Batcheldor and Koenen are developing a beautiful connection! Love to watch it.
Lightning up by 2 as we approach super shot time. We’ve been in this position before in this game. Will they be able to hold on or will Giants finish too strong?
Could this be the second week in a row the Lightning lose because of a stumble?
Yet another time out here. This is almost like basketball. Lightning have tied it up at 71-71 and they have next possession.
What on earth is happening? Is it 71-71 or 71-70?
