Cracking game, this. Lightning clinging to a 2 goal lead with 6 minutes left 2nd Q.
1/2 time: Lightning 39-36
Another great Q with Lightning edging it. Steph Fretwell has scored more super shots in the 1st half than in last week’s whole game. Maddy Proud doing an amazing amount of work.
Gains: LIG 7-5
Penalties: SWI 29-24
Turnovers: LIG 9-8Hinchliffe is having a really solid season for someone playing with a rookie GK and coming off her second ACL. Feel like she’s a quiet achiever, people haven’t been talking about her so much.
Swifts calling a time-out with 3 1/2 minutes left in the 3rd Q. Lightning up by 5.
3/4 time: Lightning 55-47
What a change in the space of a week. Lightning is 7/8 from super shot range so far. By comparison, Swifts are 5/10 and the Lightning defence is snapping up the rebounds.
Gains: LIG 14-9
Penalties: SWI 51-39
Turnovers: LIG 14-12What is the thing you can’t say on here?? I’ve no idea what that means.
Well, out of nowhere, Swifts start the 4th Q on an 8-3 run and come charging back. Just 3 the difference and the Lightning attack end all of a sudden having all sorts of problems.
Lightning has steadied and now lead by 9 with 3 minutes left.
@Nate, the reason Kumwenda is out this year.
Judging from the commentators it definitely seems to be some sort of argument or controversy rather than health matters- there’s been multiple suggestions that we could have seen the last of her in a Swifts dress. Seems a reach to me, but that’s what Cox has been saying.
Yeah I’m not getting health vibes from the tone of the commentary.
Full time: Lightning 66-64
Lightning will be very relieved to just get out of that one. Once again, they got a bit nervous and it got tight as Swifts came charging back at them with 4 super shots. POTM was Steph Fretwell who scored 6 super shots of her own.
Fever calls a time out with Tbirds up 16-13. 2 1/2 minutes to go in this first Q. Great game so far.
1/4 time: Tbirds 20-15
Incredible quarter from Thunderbirds, doing everything right if you want to beat Fever. Not a single general play turnover in 15 minutes. Williams and Horjus are everywhere.
Gains: 1-1
Penalties: FEV 11-6
Turnovers: FEV 4-0All ten Fever players have taken the court now, whereas Tbirds have stuck with the starting 7 so far. And why not? They’re going great guns. Tbirds lead 30-19 halfway through the second Q.
