Clubs that are in need of a smart and creative GA should go for Taljaard. Her court awareness is out of this world and her shooting and creativity makes up for her height. If I were the Fever, I’d already be in talks with her.
I just seen on FB that Wallam maybe looking for a new start. Could she be going (or in talks) to SEN?
If she’s leaving FB, that would open a spot of RAG, Nelson or Wallace. I’m not too sure if RAG would go back to FBs?If Wallam leaves and goes to SEN, Cardwell won’t have to leave.
I don’t think Aiken will want to return after being told she was a “risk”, Nelson would be a great fit but I doubt she’ll want to leave her fiancé in Melbourne.
Wallam wouldn’t be a good fit for the tbirds as she felt “frustrated” with the younger players at the firebirds. They’ll need someone who’s ready to steer the ship that’s why I think Kumwenda, or even Cholhok. She demonstrated her abilities at World Cup with an inexperienced team in front of her.
I’ve had a snoop through Van der Berg and Taljaards instagrams and they aren’t following any ssn or nsl teams so we’ll need to wait and see where they’ll end up.
Interesting to hear that Wallam is unhappy. Im not sure there will be that many teams willing to hand her the starting bib so it will be interesting to see if she makes the move.
I’d like to see Swifts go after Nelson if Wallace is still not in a position to be at her best. An attack end of Nelson/Housby/Proud/Hadley would be quite something.
That would be a dream swifts combo! I’m really worried for Wallace, I hope she can get a contract, she may need a season in the NSL to get her back into the groove.
Dehaney to replace Bruce? Or maybe she’ll end up back at Vixens were she was a gun player, she’s lost her mojo at lightening. I think it was due to Kylie Byrnes coaching madness.
Where is the report that Wallam was frustrated with younger players coming from? Wallam’s best mate in the team is Stower!
Would Swifts contract Nelson over Aiken George and Wallace? Swifts are quite loyal. Obviously injury may prevent Wallace but if so then they can contract Aiken George. I think it will be Swifts or nowhere for Wallace, would be quite a risk for a team to take.
I can actually see Lightning signing Nelson. Provides a genuine change up to Koenen and Koenen can run out at GA to provide a tall shooting combination with Wood either given a rest or a run in WA.
Could be a far-fetched idea, but maybe Swifts could take both RAG and Wallace? George could be used at GK, I think she could make a big impact in that power play time. Her reach over the two-point shot would be massive!
New rumour.
Bruce to be replaced by English rose defender.
My guess F Williams or Fadoju.
Leaning more towards Fadoju as Williams is linked with SEN.Interesting reading all the comments on here, which are clearly out in public domain, being in NZ I can’t always find or read the gossip 🙂
Sounds like mass transfers – players not wanting to move because of partners/homes in certain areas might have no choice if they still want to play SSN and with the demise of Collingwood it appears that there are more ‘import’ players coming in than using the ex Collingwood ones, leaving quite a few players from both Collingwood and other times without proposed contracts for the near future.
That isn’t a new rumour re Fever getting an English defender. I’d put in this thread before about Fever and Williams.
Code has said Fever are negotiating with Fran Williams. They have said that in multiple articles now. They’ve never linked Williams with SEN.
Massive news out of West Coast Fever with star goal attack Sasha Glasgow informing the club she won't be returning in 2024. #SSN

Have to give it to Glasgow, when she decides she is out of a club she lets everyone know early. When she left TBirds she put herself out there in free agency.
Pitman is leaving London. In Singapore with her husband now but do have to wonder if she could be heading to SEN as well given her history with Neville? Would be ironic if they signed 3 Roses after Neville said English players were unavailable so she was focused on Victorians B-)

Well it looks like England are getting an early start on their next 4 year cycle.
Agree @Tully I wouldn’t be surprised if Pitman is in talks with Neville. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing her back at Fever as the starting WA (that’s if ATN is leaving too). Pitman had a nice/natural connection with JFR. Having her and Simmons run the midcourt, may help the next GA that comes in.
I’d love to see Fever pick up Nyah Allen or Batcheldor. Would be great from a Diamonds perspective. Australia have many GS in the pipeline but less GAs ready to go internationally and would be great to have some younger GAs playing SSN. Or even both of them to share the bib.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if they go with Taljaard. Palavi also an option.
