Apparently she was “unhappy” and Nelson is her replacement if she leaves.

Also I wonder if they’d choose Aiken over both Nelson and Wallam? Keep her until Austin is ready to be starting gs?

Nelson’s manager stated in a code article that Nelson is on a waitlist at FBs and they would consider offering her a contract if Wallam leaves. That was a few weeks back now though so maybe she has decided to stay? Who knows!

Nelson’s manager did also say TBirds have waitlisted her too.

Maybe Wallam will come back to Perth. She is a basket baller so could play GA with more fitness or bring her on for the super shot. I could see it working.

Basketball is a very different game. Yes they run up and down the court, but they don’t put on the drives like netballers do. A player like Wallam would be still just posting up in the key way.
If she came back to Fever, she would probably get zero to nothing court time. Dan being a GA himself, I can’t see him wanting a Wallam type player at GA.

Fowler, wallam in the circle wouldn’t work. Both big bodies. There would be no movement. Fowlers completed best with a short zippy ga. Btw Sasha has unfollowed Fever, wonder if there is bad blood between them?

We’ve started up a signings article. But no speculation here, only confirmed moves…

I am clearly seeing something that all the SSN coaches are not (and they obviously have a much better idea of Netball than I do), but I’m in complete shock that Nelson might not be playing SSN next year. I think she’s been an absolute star for Collingwood the past few years, with pretty poor service. Aside from Ward, I thought she’d be the first to get a contract. I really hope she ends up somewhere, she has a lot to give and so much more development left in her.

I’m with you on that. Im a huge Nelson fan, I’d say she will be better than Fowler one day. I rate her as the second best shooter in the competition.
I hope she gets a contract, from what I’ve seen it looks like she’s soft spoken and doesn’t have a huge personality like some of the other shooters which could be why she isn’t talked about much. She single-handedly kept Collingwood in matches. When Garbin and Singleton couldn’t sink the supershots who was Nelson!! I hope she comes back to the Tbirds.

That’s why I’m surprised she wasn’t picked up by Mavericks. Sinclair could have been a swing WA/GA. Nelson/Cardwell Cardwell/Glasgow Nelson/Glasgow – Sinclair I would have put with the middies, but still an option in the circle.

I’m not surprised, looks like Neville was going for 3 shooters that can shoot super shots well.

I’m not surprised. Collingwood were so bad, for years, it’s a shame for their players but it’s not like they had stand out seasons winning games and making selectors want them.

Okay I’ve figured out a way to work out the player movements without the offical announcements lol. Check the teams IG posts, for example before the move of Watson was announced. Vixens were posting stories of players who will remain in the squad, example mannix, Moloney, Eddy, Mundy.
Another one tbirds posted stories of the top 15 players Wilson & Sterling (Cardwell was excluded). They also posted a story of Dwan.

Fever had featured Fowler as the face of Fever and not Bruce.

Moral of this post, to check out the teams instagram to see who they are using in their posts.

Re:Nelson -I think it SSN didn’t have the super shot she would be an automatic pick as she could be so strong and dominant.
I also think the squad of 10 really hurts players who excel at one position only.

Sounds like there will be some phenomenal shooting combos next year:

                                  Housby – Wallace
                                  Austin – Garbin
                                  Glasgow – Cardwell
                                  Wood – Koenen

Then those teams may well have players like Batcheldor and Kumwenda to come on for a change up / impact. Sheesh!!

Really interested to find out who the last defender is for Mavericks. They lack height and experience in defence. Who that final defender is might determine how far they can go in their first year as we have seen how lack of height can hold back teams such as Giants and FBs over the last few years.
