I reckon it could be location but my main guess is because they don’t have a diamonds influence. You want to play with the best of the best in aus and they currently don’t have that diamonds connection.
Thunderbirds have the best GK in the world IMO, and one of the top GD/WDs in Wilson as well. I don’t think it’s that they can’t “recruit anyone good” I think it’s that the players have achieved the pinnacle, so they want a new challenge. I had similar thoughts when heaps of the Swift’s team left when SSN started (after the back to back GF appearances), but realised they just needed something new and challenging.
The proposed Thunderbirds team doesn’t sound too shabby really. I don’t think they’re title contenders, but I think they’ll be quite competitive.
I don’t think they have trouble landing internationals just Aussie diamonds. I think once the young SA girls become diamonds it will be a different story and players would love to play for the tbirds.
I hope it works out well for them. I do still believe they can finish in the top 4.
The TBirds need to move Horjus to the shooting circle and recruit a GS/GA swing like Nyah Allen or Uneeq Palavi.
On the other hand, they need a specialist WA who can work wonders with the shooting circle. Someone like Kelsey Browne or Annie Miller would fit perfectly well.
Horjus has to be the starting GA now that Dwan is rumoured to have left TBirds. She can swing to WA and knows how to transition between both positions (great move to push her for Diamonds selection).
I forgot to add, a Horjus/Austin circle has so much potential for the TBirds to make Top 4 :bye:

Mediation may be the best way forward in the Super Netball CPA dispute, as negotiations grind to a halt.
It's not the first time ANPA has fought for a revenue-share, so why are they digging their heels in? It all boils down to a lack of trust. #netball https://t.co/DroB2LV9nh

I think Dwan has confirmed her departure with Code but i cant see the article.
Will be interesting to see what happens once Bueta returns.Super sad if Dwan is leaving Tbirds and I hope it doesn’t come back to bite her in 2025 if/when Bueta comes back. Perhaps Bueta will play more GS? We know she can play there just as well considering that was her main position in the Diamonds with Wood as GA
That’s what I was thinking. Is it a risk for her to return to firebirds? Unless they release Wallam from her contract? Dwan will ne bench sitting in 2025.
If Dwan has a strong season, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bueta at GS and Dwan at GA in 2025. Dwan is considerably younger than Wallam and a future Diamond. They would want to keep her
Dwan won’t be sitting on any bench for the Firebirds. IF Bueta returns it’d be a Bueta – Dwan circle. Brilliant for Dwan’s diamond aspirations.
TBirds have significant SA talent to choose from. If I were them I wouldn’t import in, I’d promote from within. Players like Allen, Casey, Orr (potentially Frew but I’m not sure yet) etc could become long term core team members. Recruit Kelsey Browne or someone comparable and they’ll be in the exact same position they are in now in a few years again. Look what happened when they backed in Horjus, Austin and Williams!
What’s the latest news on rumoured signings? Any word on Thunderbirds replacement goalers? What about Giants midcourt and third circle defender? Firebirds also have two defensive spots?
