I’m still in hope that Tbirds will recruit Kelsey Browne, and Horjus runs GA for the season.
I’m not the hugest fan of Coshy, but she could be a handy player for Tbirds to have. Able to swing between GA/WA.

Nope I wouldn’t be confident in Horjus running out at GA for the whole season. They need someone with more height for once she gets worked out and shut down (which she will because she’s still relatively inexperienced at GA at this level).

We also don’t need Kelsey Browne, love her but we need someone with more positional flexibility, especially if we’re recruiting a GS/GA who can’t swing to WA.

50% player turnover but if Code is right they will have a great team. Just need to form connections and answer questions regarding super shot ability.

          GS Fowler
          GA Beckford
          WA ATN
          C Anstiss / Charles
          WD Aryang
          GD Williams
          GK Dehaney

I think Cosh outperformed to be an
SSN player as long as she was. I’d definitely be looking at Nyah Allen ahead of Cosh if I were TBirds.

I agree I wouldn’t recruit Browne. I’d sign Annie Miller ahead of Browne. I do wonder if Tyler Orr predominantly played WA at ANC as somewhat of a trial?

I still think there would have been value in Palavi but she has signed up to VNL again so unlikely.

The game this year against Vixens in Melbourne where they didn’t have Dwan I expect would be a warning to TBirds about Horjus as the starting GA. Yes they lacked a backup WA to cover that spot but they still had Cardwell as Horjus’ shooting partner. TBirds struggled immensely in that game.

Annie Miller would be a great pickup. Is she on the Tbirds radar? Her and Williams would be a great midcourt pairing.

I’m more in favour of Horjus at GA, if the RAG rumour is true and if they could recruit a strong WA. We saw the Tbirds struggle when she came out of WA.

However Nyah Allen at GA and Horjus WA sounds good too!

Gee @Tully – that is an impressive Fever line up. With Cransberg on the bench to cover all 3 mid court positions, they are looking solid.

Yeah that’s the lineup according to Code with Olivia Wilkinson taking the other shooting spot. They’ll be right up there just need to work out how they fill the huge SS void left by Glasgow as I’ve never really thought of Beckford as either a high volume or long range shooter.

Fever, Vixens and TBirds have had the big name departures and so far the first two have put together really strong lists. Just waiting to see what TBirds do ….

Have we heard any rumours about the third defender spots in Firebirds and Giants? Originally it was rumoured Temu from NZ was going to Giants – is that still likely? I feel like I haven’t heard anything about Firebirds defenders besides Unie not being contracted again

I wouldn’t be surprised if Firebirds stick with their pathways. Ashlee Barnett maybe?

Ash Barnett would be a great signing. She would probably have been a TP already had she not been jumping between states. She is Victorian and went up to Sunny Coast around the time of covid then went back to Victoria playing VNL and Vixens Academy in 2022. Then in 2023 back to QLD.

As for Giants 3rd defender, Code speculated they were considering Erin O’Brien.

Yeah I think Fever will be fine. Beckford was great in 2015, had a dip in 2019 but has been world class in 2022 and 2023. In a professional environment she will absolutely thrive. Fowler is great but I think a lot of people underrate how much work she has done to improve the Jamaican midcourt.

                              Bit confused on Fevers team,

                              goalers makes sense
                              fowler
                              beckford
                              wilkinson

                              Midcourt
                              ATN
                              Charles
                              Anstiss
                              Aryang?
                              Cransberg

                              Defence
                              Williams
                              Dehaney

is Aryang now the starting WD that leaves their bench with cransberg and won of Ansstiss or charles who have both been starting seven players all year.

i get Aryang can move back into the circle and bring them on but that then removes williams.

A lot of talent and players competing for spots will be complicated for this team they lost 3 defenders and only recruited two and only one of them plays goal keeper unless williams plays goal keeper but i thought she was a GD

Williams can play GK, especially against more mobile shooters like Koenen or Harten. Dehaney can start but Williams – Aryang (with Anstiss or Cransberg at WD) will work as well.

                                Loads of options.

TBirds only had 3 defenders and started one of them at WD. They had defensive midcourters like Fever have to allow Wilson (or Aryang for Fever) back into the circle.
