Oh boy. Damn typos.
"Dealing with elite players can be demanding … It's tough gig to manage the egos and emotions."
Australian legend Jill McIntosh has urged the Queensland Firebirds to fill Bec Bulley's spot with an experienced name over another new-age coach. #SSN2024 https://t.co/xbvsL1aRET

That was a great read. Interesting thoughts from McIntosh, and I think she’s right on the money.
I wonder if Bulley and Anderson are just better assistant coaches? If you look at Nicole Cusack, I don’t believe she’s ever had a head coaching role at the elite level? Yet she would have a very good resume.
I wonder who they are looking at. McIntosh believes there’s a lot of active experienced coaches in QLD.
They should get Plummer in there, just to tidy everything up and get them on the right track. I highly doubt it, but DNT? Her best coaching of the Ferns was when she doing both SSN (Lightning) and Ferns.Haven’t read the article but I agree with the idea that they just weren’t ready.
Something the Swifts have done very well is their use of Anita Keelan in the assistant role with less experienced head coaches – Rob Wright and Akle.
With Akle’s experience they have been able to bring in Avelino now but Keelan was a back bone to the coaching team and played a large role in their success coaching the coach as well building the team culture.
Neither Bulley or Anderson had the right assistant for their level of head coach experience.
I wonder if Lisa Alexander is interested in coaching again?
Teams will often think a person did a good job as assistant coach at a successful team, so they must be ready to be a head coach. But some people just aren’t suited to being head coach, even though they are very good assistant coaches. I reckon Rob Wright is another one.
I was just listening to a netball podcast and they mentioned the Mavs are not happy with Tracy and that there could be a potential move to the firebirds. I highly doubt it though.
They look happy to me, the only person who mightn’t be happy is Fraser?Uneeq Palavi coming in for the Swifts! Very excited to see how she combines with Housby!
TEAM UPDATE | We have called in Australian-born Tongan International Uneeq Palavi as a Temporary Replacement Player for Sunday’s clash with the Vixens.

Neville is very… I’ll call it passionate.
That type of passion takes a while to come around to and she hasn’t had a lot of time to build that relationship where that type of passion isn’t taken the wrong way. When she was coaching in England, those players knew her well from club level and they would have crossed paths at different stages through their development pathways.
Mavs have had a bad run with injuries and I think they are doing pretty well considering!
If Firebirds didn’t like Bulley’s tough approach (allegedly), then I don’t think Neville would be well received either.
Yes, passionate is one word for it. To me, it just seems like she expects the players to perform at a higher level than they’re probably capable of. Several players have come from being bench warmers at other teams. You can’t just expect them to be world beaters every week. The team is doing better than a lot of people expected.
The Queensland Firebirds have climbed to within reach of the top four after overcoming their horror form and internal challenges– stuttering West Coast Fever to win an arm-wrestle by eight points at Nissan Arena.
Donnell Wallam was best-on-court.
