Vixens have one goal from a gain. TBirds have 10!
Why not try Eddy at GD with Moloney at WD.
Vixens ahould be taking Moloney off not Walters. Walters needs experience and Moloney isn’t have a good game.
Vixens have a massive defensive issue. Yes they made mistakes in attack but they had nice passages and turnovers were actually pretty even with TBirds. But defensively they got one clean intercept and it was Walters. Without Weston I don’t know why they didn’t try a backline of Moloney-Eddy-Mannix. Maybe they will next game. They really should have tried to recruit a ball winner instead of Ellis, they weren’t even attacking the ball.
In the end, a comfortable win for Thunderbirds. Some work to do for the Vixens team, with the Thunderbirds dominating defensively. How’s this for a stat…

1/4 time: Firebirds 11-10
Nobody scored for the last 2 minutes of the second Q. This is a tight competitive game. Firebirds with a slight edge so far, but Mavericks right in it.
1/2 time: Firebirds 22-18
All tied up here going into the last Q. Mavericks with 3 super shots to pull them level with Firebirds who are yet to score one.
3/4 time: 33-33
Full time: Firebirds 43-42
Firebirds win it by 1! That was a great tussle for a pre-season game. Good first outing for Mavericks. Both teams gave it everything and some real positives to come out of it for both.
Having Gina play WA in the SSN would be amazing for NZ given WA is their biggest problem atm

GK McDonellAt quarter time, Giants are up by 4 after 11/11 shooting including 3 super shots from Sophie Dwyer.
1/4 time: Giants 14-10
Giants still up by 4 at half time and they still haven’t missed. Another 11/11 in that Q with Dwyer 7/7 including another 3 super shots. Matisse Letherbarrow is now on to replace her.
1/2 time: Giants 28-24
Giants still lead by 4 after another even Q, but that was a very scrappy affair with turnovers galore.
3/4 time: Giants 35-31
Full Time: Lightning 42-41
Another thrilling game that went right down the the last few seconds. Well fought out by Lightning and they come up with the one goal win. Lots of changes throughout, but no doubt Giants looked better with their first half line up.
