TB, with the old Tippah Dwan of a couple of years ago, yes it would have been a surprise, but she had a bit of a dodgy knee last year and her form started to suffer.

        Full time: FIR 62-57

At times in the last Q Giants challenged but a relieved Firebirds team holds on to win. Some definite positives for them to take out of the game, but the shooting % is a worry. Penalties and turnovers hurt the Giants.

Firebirds really had to work for that win. Against the top teams a shooting percentage of 70% just isn’t going to cut it.

The Giants Supershot misses hurt them at the end.

Grace Whyte has had a heavy fall and has left the court, replaced by Verity Simmons, playing her first game for Swifts.

Watching the Fever defence end struggle against housby and NWeke is scary

How are teams like firebirds giants mavericks going to be able to stop them with their smaller defence ends

A dominant performance from Swifts who make a big statement in the opening round. The combo of Nweke and Housby was as strong as you’d expect, but the whole team stood up. The defence end really troubled the Fever.

Who do we have to campaign to to have music during the quarter banned!?! It’s so annoying and far far too loud. Players can’t hear the umpires, it’s annoying both watching on tv and in stadium. We’re interested in watching netball and hearing the umpires calls, if we wanted to go to a concert we would🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I don’t understand it. There must be some reason why they think it’s popular, but I’ve seen lots of people saying they hate it.

I was at the Fever game, I quite liked the music being played during game time.

Even though Fever got smoked, I quite enjoyed watching the moving circle. Wilkinson/Beckford were very creative in their movement, it was nice to watch. Beckford is a gun, her speed and elevation is quite impressive. Give Wilkinson a couple more years and she’ll be a very dominant force at GS. I quite liked her at GA too, offers a completely different style to Beckford. I thought her and Kumwenda did some good things in there.

However if Fever want to be serious contenders for the trophy, they NEED JFN back. If they can’t get her back in, IMO this season will be purely development for Wilkinson.
