The GIANTS have made two changes to their team for this weekend’s trip to the Sunshine Coast 👇
— GIANTS Netball (@GIANTS_Netball) May 9, 2025Umpire appointments for Round 5:
FIR v THU Tamara Buriani-Gennai & Nicole Wingrave
FEV v MAV Taylah Bennett & Georgina Sulley-Beales
LIG v GIA Justin Barnes & Jemma Cook
SWI v VIX Rachael Stebbings & Bronwen AdamsRBDs 50th game and Latu Meafou injected will get firebirds over the line i reckon
I wonder what Sophie fawns plans are for the future I guess it’ll depend on if Nweke returns to NZ
Also anyone else see the article about JLP wanting to move to Melbourne in the future to be closer to partner?
Wonder if that would coincide with stepping away from ssn and starting a family or if she’s hoping to go to mavericks, vixens have a pretty stacked young midcourt
I am hearing that Weston will soon retire, she needs an ankle reconstruction but is rather managing it through. Eddy could then move into the circle permanently leaving the WD bib open or a share of WD and C with Moloney for Price. Garbin, Mundy, Moloney, Austin – a team full of her mates.
They can have 3 non NV pathway players I thought (without board approval). With board approval they can have as many as they want.
It is open to interpretation, Ellis is counted as a pathway player due to her time as a Vixens TP and playing for Fury.

Wow that would be an unreal midcourt walters mundy Moloney and JLP
I guess it depends on what mannix is doing as well
Mannix Ellis/Caris and eddy is a decent circle defense endTime out in the first Q and it’s been a good start from Firebirds, a shaky one for Tbirds. Romelda is 2/6 so far.
FIR 11-6
1/4 time: FIR 19-17
What a cracking first Q. Firebirds were on top for most of it, but Lauren Frew with 3 super shots brought the visitors level, before Emily Moore with her 2nd 2 pointer regained the lead for Firebirds on the buzzer.
Visser on at WD, and ran through the circle with nothing called 😂
Abigail Latu-Meafou is on and sinks her first goal for Firebirds in 6 years. Much like the 2nd Q, Firebirds just making too many errors. THU 41-36
3/4 time: THU 45-41
Much like the 2nd Q, Firebirds had a very poor start to the 3rd Q, and had to rely on a late fightback to stay in the hunt. Latanya Wilson is dominating with 7 gains including 6 intercepts & Isabelle Shearer has 6 gains for Firebirds.
